Bespoke kitchens in Tower Hill: what you get
You choose the worktop, sink and appliances, and we design the cabinets around them. Knowing the appliance sizes early lets us leave the right spaces, from the oven housing to the dishwasher. Your quote sets out the materials and finish. If you’re living with an island where space allows and a layout for a small or awkward room, kitchens made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish can solve it.
Kitchens in newer homes often face onto a balcony door or a large window, so storage has to be planned around the glass. Since many homes around Tower Hill date from 2000 onwards, tall larders and a peninsula, where there is room, can make up the storage. Wall cabinets are fixed into the studs or with fixings made for the board.
The quote comes in writing, so there’s time to read it properly. It records the design, the materials and the finish we discussed.

How it is made
Spray-painted finish
We spray paint in the workshop for a smooth, factory-like finish.
Moisture-resistant MDF
Most painted kitchen doors we make are moisture-resistant MDF, because it’s stable and smooth.
Before and after fitting day
Most of what helps is simple. Here’s what we suggest:
- Check there is room around an island before planning one
- Mention any parking or lift rules
- Have damp sorted before fitting
- Wipe up spills promptly
Wipe up spills and splashes promptly, particularly around the sink and dishwasher. Even moisture-resistant materials last better when kept dry.
Measure the route into the kitchen along with the room itself. Workshop-made furniture comes in sections sized for stairs, hallways and lifts, so tell us about tight turns or small lifts.
FAQs: bespoke kitchens in Tower Hill
Is parking a problem for fitting in Tower Hill?
It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.
How do you fit bespoke kitchens in a flat in Tower Hill?
We measure the route in along with the room itself: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.
What are your kitchens made from?
Our kitchens are made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, then spray painted or hand painted. Your quote sets out the materials and finish.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. Let us know when you contact us if a Saturday suits you best.
Who chooses the colour?
You choose it. The paint colour is agreed with you, and it is set out in the quote.
Does someone need to be home during the fitting?
We need access, so someone has to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Standard units come in set widths and heights, so there’s normally a gap left over at the top or at one end. Fitted furniture is made to the room’s measurements, so it can run to the ceiling and fill the width.
The real difference is in the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.

What happens on fitting day
Once the main sections are fixed in place, any doors go on and any drawers or lids are fitted. Each one is adjusted until the gaps are even and it closes cleanly, and then we check it all again. How long fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Stud walls can carry pipes and cables, so we check before drilling, and heavy pieces are fixed into the studs or stand on the floor. Any new sockets or plumbing are for your electrician or plumber.

Ask for a quote
If you already have something in mind, tell us; if you do not, that is fine, and we can work it out together. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To arrange a visit, drop us a line using the contact form.
Advice
Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Ready-made units are made to fixed sizes, so the room has to fit the units. Bespoke cabinets are made to the room’s real sizes, so the runs can fill the space properly. Big standalone units can dominate a compact room, whereas fitted pieces painted to suit the walls sit back into the space.
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. Bigger pieces use more board and take longer to make and fit. After that, the number of doors and drawers, the internal fittings and the finish all play a part.

Bespoke kitchens in Tower Hill: local notes
In the neighbourhood around Tower Hill, the largest groups of homes date from the years since 2000 (about 49%) and between 1973 and 1999 (about 23%), in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how kitchens are fixed and fitted. There are 257 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Tower Hill. Older homes nearby may have original joinery, shutters or panelling worth keeping, and the furniture can be designed around them rather than over them. TfL’s Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every part of London, Tower Hamlets included. It applies to every van that comes to fit furniture in Tower Hill. How the van gets to your door is planned at the measuring visit.
Near listed buildings like Chapel of St Peter Ad Vincula, less than half a mile east of the centre of Tower Hill, older homes may keep original joinery that kitchens can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. Close to William Curtis Ecological Park? A tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design. For a flat near London Fenchurch Street station, kitchens are made in sections sized for the stairs, landings and lift, so measuring the route matters as much as measuring the room.
