Pricing bespoke kitchens in Bromley
Prices vary from room to room, for these reasons:
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
- The width and height of the space
- Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
No two rooms cost the same to furnish, because the size, the layout and the finish all vary. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.
Before the design visit
When you contact us, these help most:
- Any ideas or images you’ve saved
- What you’d like to store or use the space for
- Whether it’s a house or a flat, and if there are stairs or a lift
- Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
It helps to see the room before we come. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line tell us a lot about the space, along with rough sizes. To send them over, message us from the contact page, and we will arrange a design visit.
About our bespoke kitchens in Bromley
Older London homes are rarely simple places to fit a kitchen. Walls lean, corners aren’t square and floors slope, sometimes noticeably over a single run of units. We scribe the cabinets to the walls and set them level on adjustable feet or a plinth, so the worktop you choose can sit level. Typical reasons to get in touch are a layout for a small or awkward room and tall larder storage, and the answer is made in our workshop from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed.
A large number of homes around Bromley date from 2000 onwards, and newer homes typically have open-plan kitchens. Cabinets can be designed for the open space, with an island if the room allows. Walls in newer homes are often plasterboard on studs, so wall cabinets are fixed into the studs or use fixings made for the board.
The written quote is your record of the job. It sets out the kitchen designed for your room, what it’s made from and how it is finished.

Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Bromley
Does a conservation area in or near Bromley affect fitted furniture?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, works inside that affect its character may need listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Bromley?
It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a pay-and-display bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
Is the furniture spray painted or hand painted?
There are two choices: spray painting, done in the workshop for a smooth, even finish, or hand painting, which can be done on site. The finish is agreed in your quote.
How do you get the furniture up the stairs?
Getting it in is planned at the design visit. We measure the stairs, landings, lift and doors, and each section is made to a size that will get through.
Do you make good the walls afterwards?
No. Our work is the furniture, not the walls. The furniture is finished by spray or by hand, as agreed in your quote.
Do I need to be in when you fit?
We need someone to let us in. It’s good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.

Looking after your furniture
Looking after painted furniture is simple. A few things help it stay looking good:
- Allow space to walk round an island
- Have damp sorted before fitting
- Make a note of what you use every day
- Let us know how parking works on your street
Follow the appliance makers’ guidance for your oven, hob and dishwasher, and the care advice for your worktop.
Have any damp sorted before the kitchen goes in. Damp behind units can lead to mould, particularly on external walls.
What happens on fitting day
When we arrive on fitting day, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. The sections made at our workshop come in next, a piece at a time. How long fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Stud walls can carry pipes and cables, so we check before drilling, and heavy pieces are fixed into the studs or stand on the floor. Any new sockets or plumbing are for your electrician or plumber.
- You get in touch with some details about the kitchen. Say a little about the way you cook.
- We visit, measure and go through the layout, larder, dresser or island, where space allows.
- You receive a quote in writing, setting out the cabinets, materials and finish.
- Everything is built in our workshop.
- The cabinets are fitted in your home, with plumbing, gas and electrics by your plumber, a Gas Safe registered engineer and your electrician.
Before we arrive
- Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
Getting a quote
Rough sizes are fine at the start. Everything is measured properly when we visit. To arrange it, tell us about the room on our contact form and tell us about the room. The written quote follows the visit.

Made-to-measure kitchens or ready-made?
Larders, dressers and tall cupboards are hard to find in standard sizes that suit an older room. We can build them to fit, with the same finish as the cabinets. Ready-made units fixed to stud walls are often held by fixings that don’t suit the board. Built-in pieces are designed with the right fixings from the start, and heavy pieces can stand on the floor.
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. Size, the number of doors and drawers and the internal fittings make the biggest difference to the price.

Bespoke kitchens for homes in Bromley
In the neighbourhood around Bromley, the largest groups of homes date from the years since 2000 (about 52%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 18%), in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. 19 conservation areas have at least part of their area within a mile of central Bromley. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. All of London, Tower Hamlets included, is inside the ULEZ. Vans bringing furniture to Bromley fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. How the van gets to your door is planned at the design visit.
If you live near Bob's Park, a tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design. For a family home near St Agnes RC Primary School, a drawer set aside for lunch boxes and water bottles keeps mornings calmer. Near listed buildings like Tide Mill (known As the House Mill), under half a mile north-east of the centre of Bromley, older homes may keep original joinery that kitchens can be designed around. For a listed home, fixing into original features can need listed building consent.
