Bespoke kitchens in Upper Edmonton

Bespoke kitchens in Upper Edmonton

Our bespoke kitchens are fitted in Upper Edmonton and all over London. It starts with a design visit to measure and talk through the layout, followed by a quote. Once agreed, the kitchen is made in our workshop and fitted in your home. How long the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and your quote sets out the fitting days, so you can plan around it. We make kitchens from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted, and the things people most often want solved are making the most of a galley kitchen and a kitchen island with room around it.

The inside of a kitchen matters as much as the doors. Whatever your kitchen in Upper Edmonton is like, the design visit starts with how you cook. Pan drawers, a larder and somewhere for the recycling are planned in early. Cabinets are made from moisture-resistant MDF or birch plywood.

The quote names the materials: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, each used where it suits the job. The finish is stated too, whether that is spray painting or hand painting.

How it is made

Larder and dresser units

A dresser pairs cupboards below with open shelves above, made to fit its wall.

Spray-painted finish

A spray-painted finish is applied in our workshop, giving a smooth, even surface.

From workshop to your room

When the fitting is done, we tidy the room. Before we go, we look over the finished furniture with you and explain how to look after the paint. How long the fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and your quote sets out the fitting days. It’s useful to clear the room and the route in before fitting day, including anything on the walls near the work. We cover floors and doorways first. Then the sections come in and are joined in place.

  1. It starts with a short note from you about the room.
  2. At the design visit we measure the kitchen and the route in, including stairs, doorways and any lift. Let us know about parking too, as a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension.
  3. A written quote follows, covering the cabinets, materials and finish.
  4. The cabinets are built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, sized to come in through your doors.
  5. We carry everything in and fit the cabinets, while your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics.

Before we arrive

  • Empty the space we will be working in
  • Check the building’s rules for trades and lift bookings
  • Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way

How to get a quote

Every quote follows a design visit. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and go through the design with you, then send a quote in writing. Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. To arrange a visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

Do you need bespoke kitchens in Upper Edmonton?

An extension or a knocked-through room is a common starting point. A new room needs a kitchen planned for its shape and light. The building work itself is for your builder.

We’re often asked to help with:

  • A kitchen planned around your appliances
  • An island where space allows
  • Cabinets for a narrow kitchen
  • Cabinets that suit lean and sloping walls

If your home is one of the older houses near St Mary's Church, tall ceilings can take larder cupboards right up to the top.

Questions to ask before you hire anyone

  • Are the boards named, like MDF or plywood?
  • How doors and drawers are fitted
  • Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
  • Have they thought about parking near you?

Questions from Upper Edmonton

Is Upper Edmonton in the area you cover for bespoke kitchens?

Yes, Upper Edmonton is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Enfield and the rest of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, followed by a quote.

Can you fit furniture in a home close to Silver Street station?

Yes, homes across Enfield and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can drop us a line using the contact form to arrange a design visit.

How much time does fitting need?

Every kitchen is different. How long the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote.

Do I need planning permission for fitted furniture?

Not normally. Conservation areas mostly control changes to the outside, and furniture inside a house does not normally need it. In a listed building, check with the council’s conservation officer before any work.

Can you come on a Saturday?

Yes, by prior arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.

Do you do the plumbing and electrics?

No, those are jobs for other trades. Plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician, while we make and fit the cabinets.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?

If you are handy, a simple shelf or a standard wardrobe in a square room is a reasonable DIY job. It gets harder with sloping ceilings, out-of-level floors and lath-and-plaster walls, where scribing and fixings that suit the wall are important.

It’s worth being honest about cost: flat-pack is normally cheaper to buy. Bespoke makes more sense where the room is tricky, the space is valuable or you want the furniture to look built in.

Honest limits

Electrics, plumbing, gas, plastering and structural work aren’t part of what we do. Please bear these in mind too:

  • New sockets or circuits
  • Plastering, tiling or decorating
  • Connecting a gas hob or cooker
