Bespoke Kitchens in Edmonton
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. Our work on bespoke kitchens in Edmonton starts with a design visit, and everything is built in our workshop.
- A dresser that suits a period house
- An island where space allows
- A painted kitchen in a colour you choose

Honest limits
Not everything around bespoke kitchens is carpentry, such as an electrician, a plumber or a Gas Safe registered engineer. Here is what to bear in mind:
- Connecting a gas hob or cooker
- Building work, like removing walls
- Plumbing, which is for your plumber

About our bespoke kitchens in Edmonton
Moisture-resistant MDF suits kitchens well, because it copes with a room that gets steamy. For drawer boxes and shelves, birch plywood is a good choice. Cabinets are spray painted in the workshop or hand painted, in colours agreed with you. We make kitchens from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted, and people most often get in touch about more storage in a small kitchen and a kitchen planned around your appliances.
Paint colour has a big effect in a kitchen, especially one that is open to the living space. Cabinets can be spray-painted in the workshop or hand-painted on site. For a kitchen in Edmonton, either can work.
If the job needs another trade, such as an electrician or a plumber, we’ll tell you. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

Made-to-measure kitchens in Edmonton
The biggest shares of homes in the streets around Edmonton were built before 1919 (about 29%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 27%), based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how kitchens are fixed and fitted. There are 13 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Edmonton. Being near listed buildings does not make a home listed, and you can check any address on Historic England’s list. Controlled parking zones are run by the boroughs, so the rules in Enfield are set locally. Depending on your street in Edmonton, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. Let us know about parking at the design visit.
For a family home near Brettenham Primary School, a kitchen with a spot for school letters and lunch boxes makes mornings easier. If you live in a flat close to Edmonton Green station, check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in. Near listed buildings like Lamb's Cottage, less than half a mile north-west of the centre of Edmonton, older homes may keep original joinery that kitchens can be designed around. For a listed home, fixing into original features may need listed building consent.
Edmonton is part of the London Borough of Enfield. Edmonton is part of the area we cover, and the process is the same everywhere we work. Our Enfield coverage includes Edmonton, along with the rest of the borough.
Postcode districts we cover here for bespoke kitchens: N9, N18, N13 and EN1. Our area takes in homes on streets like The Broadway, Plevna Road and Galahad Road, for bespoke kitchens and any of our other fitted furniture. Main roads around Edmonton include the B137 and B154. If your home is on one of them, tell us at the measuring visit, as some main roads have strict stopping rules. Other places close to Edmonton include Upper Edmonton (1 mile south), Picketts Lock (1 mile east), Northumberland Park (1 mile south), Ponders End (1 mile north-east) and Bush Hill Park (1 mile north-west). Other parts of Enfield we cover include Enfield (2 miles north-west), Palmers Green (2 miles west), New Southgate (4 miles west), Enfield Chase (3 miles north-west), Gordon Hill (3 miles north) and Oakthorpe Park (2 miles west). Edmonton is among the bigger places we cover in Enfield.

Flats, leases and landlords
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let, as it makes good use of an awkward room. The materials are the same as for any home: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, which often brings a shared hall and tight turns on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it.

Moisture-resistant MDF
Moisture-resistant MDF suits kitchens, because it copes with a room that gets warm and steamy.
Larder and dresser units
We build larders with shelves, drawers and door racks, made to the space.
How fitting works for bespoke kitchens
You will not need to do much on the day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and the room should already be cleared, as we’ll have talked about at the design visit. From there, we protect the floors, bring the furniture in and get on with the fitting. How long fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and your quote sets out the fitting days. We measure the hall, stairs, doors and any lift not just the room, so the furniture comes in sections sized for the route. We cover floors and doorways on the way in.
- We start with how you cook and what the kitchen needs to hold. Larders, dressers and islands can all be part of it, where space allows.
- At the design visit we measure the walls, floor and ceiling and plan the layout. We note where the water, gas and sockets are now.
- A quote follows, covering the design and finish, ready for you to check.
- We build and finish the kitchen in our workshop.
- We fit the cabinets in your home; plumbing, gas and electrics are done by your plumber, a Gas Safe registered engineer and your electrician.
Before fitting day
- Book any lift and let the concierge or building manager know
- Empty the space we’ll be working in
- Keep pets in another room while we work
Starting with a design visit
To get a quote, drop us a line using the contact form and tell us a little about the room and roughly what you’d like. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a quote in writing follows.

Before and after fitting day
None of this takes much effort. What we’d suggest:
- Measure the route into the kitchen
- Know your appliance sizes early
- Mention any parking or lift rules
- Make a note of what you use every day
Let steam escape when you cook, as steam settling on cabinets over time isn’t good for any finish. Ventilation helps the whole kitchen.
Talk to your plumber, electrician and an engineer on the Gas Safe Register early. Their work and ours need to fit together, and it’s easier when everyone works from the same design.
Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Edmonton
Do you cover homes near Edmonton Green station?
Yes, homes across Enfield and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Edmonton?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. It’s useful to let us know about parking at the design visit.
Can I have a kitchen island?
Yes, where there is space. We measure during the design visit to check there is room to walk round it and open doors. If it would crowd the kitchen, we’ll say so.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
Someone needs to let us in. It is good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.
What are the kitchen cabinets made of?
We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray painting or hand painting. Your quote sets out the materials and finish.
Does my lease affect fitted furniture?
Possibly. Some leases need the building owner’s consent before you make alterations, including fixing furniture to the walls. Check your lease, as we can’t advise on it.
