Fitted cupboards for homes in Park Royal
Hallways in London homes are often long and narrow, so every cupboard needs to be worth the room it takes. A shallow cupboard can hold coats, shoes and bags without blocking the way, with hooks, a rail or shelves inside. Some people like a low bench with storage beneath, so there is somewhere to sit by the door. We make fitted cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand, and people most often get in touch about tidying away the gas and electricity meters and a linen cupboard on the landing.
A large share of the homes around Park Royal date from 2000 onwards, and in a newer house with a converted loft, the eaves and slopes are worth using. For lofts, the storage goes into spaces that are already converted or boarded. Elsewhere, fitted storage is fixed to plasterboard walls with fixings that suit it.
We write quotes in plain English, without jargon. They say what will be made, what it’s made from and how it will be finished, all taken from the design visit.

What prompts fitted cupboards in Park Royal
Some spaces are just hard to use. A recess beside a chimney breast, a gap at the end of a corridor or the space over a stair can all hold a cupboard that fits it exactly.
Here are some of the needs we’re asked about most:
- Landing shelves for bedding and towels
- Making use of an tricky alcove or corner
- A utility room with proper storage
- A hallway cupboard for coats and shoes
For a family home near West Twyford Primary School, a place for each person’s coat and shoes stops the hallway filling up.
Choosing a carpenter
- How the doors are hung and adjusted
- Whether they can show you real projects they’ve done
- Do they scribe the furniture to the walls?
- Have they measured the stairs, lift and doorways?

Pricing fitted cupboards in Park Royal
Every room is different, so every job is quoted on its own. This is what makes the difference:
- Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Spray painting or hand painting
- Parking near your home
There is no price list, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, discuss the design and then quote in writing, naming the materials and finish. To arrange a design visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.
Before the design visit
A little information at the start saves time later. Where you can, include:
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- What you’d like to store or use the space for
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- A few pictures of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit. To arrange a visit, get in touch through our contact form.

Plinths and scribe strips
We trim the edge of each cupboard to follow the wall for a close fit.
Doors and drawer fronts
We make doors in a style that suits the room, painted to match the cupboard. Drawers can sit below for shoes or smaller things.
Common questions about fitted cupboards
My home in Park Royal is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?
At the design visit, we measure the way in as well as the room. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. It helps to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
Can you make fitted cupboards for a home in Park Royal?
Yes, we work across Ealing, Park Royal included, and across the rest of London. You can use our contact form to arrange a design visit.
Who chooses the colour?
You choose it, and it’s agreed with you before painting. Whichever finish you pick, it is in the colour you’ve chosen.
What finishes do you offer?
There are two choices: a spray finish from the workshop, which is smooth and even, or hand painting, which can be done in your home. The finish is agreed in your quote.
Will the cupboards fit my uneven walls?
Yes, that’s part of the job. Walls in older homes are rarely flat and floors often slope, so we scribe and level every cupboard.
How much does a fitted cupboard cost?
We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. Each cupboard is different, so we price it after measuring. To get started, use our contact form.
Fitting day, step by step
Finishing comes last. With a spray finish from the workshop, there’s normally only filling and touching up to do in the room; hand painting, if that is what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. Walls in newer homes are often plasterboard on studs, so fixings go into the studs or use fixings made for the board. Floors are protected throughout, as many newer homes have finished floors that mark easily.
- We start with the space and what you want to store, including anything awkward like a boiler or meter.
- At the design visit we measure up and look at the walls, floor and ceiling. Doors, shelves and rails are agreed then too.
- We send a written quote with the design, materials and finish.
- We build the cupboards in our workshop, using moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit them in your home, scribed to the walls and set level.

Fitted cupboards in Park Royal: local notes
The biggest shares of homes in the streets around Park Royal were built since 2000 (about 57%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 19%), in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. We take that into account at the design visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Within a mile of the centre of Park Royal, 4 conservation areas are recorded by Historic England. England has around 10,000 in all, and their controls are mainly about the outside of buildings. Newer homes are more common around Park Royal than across Ealing: about 57% date from 2000 onwards, against about 18%, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. That makes plasterboard stud walls and compact rooms more likely, which shapes the fixings and sizes.
