Fitted home offices designed for your room
FAQs: fitted home offices in Nag's Head
Do you cover homes near Drayton Park station?
Yes, homes across Islington and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can use our contact form with some details about the room.
Is parking a problem for fitting in Nag's Head?
It can be, as controlled parking zones cover much of inner London. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
Do you wire in sockets for the home office?
That is work for your electrician. The furniture is designed to suit, with routes for chargers and screens. Your electrician can then fit them as planned.
What finishes do you offer?
You can choose between two finishes: spray painted or hand painted. Spray painting gives a smooth, even finish, and hand painting is easy to touch up.
Can you fit furniture to uneven walls?
Walls and floors that are not true are part of the job in older homes. We trim the edges to follow the wall and level the base, so there are no gaps at the sides.
Can you fit a desk under a sloping ceiling?
Yes, if the loft is already a converted room. Headroom is the main thing to plan around, so you can stand at the desk. Shelving and cupboards can fill the lower space under the slope.
Fitted home offices in Nag's Head: what you get
Storage keeps a home office calm. We can plan drawers, file storage, a cupboard for the printer and shelving, so the work surface stays clear. Doors can hide the working things when you are done. We design the storage around your work, wherever you are in Nag's Head. Typical reasons to get in touch are a spare room that has to be an office and a guest room and a screen that’s hard to read by the window; the furniture is made from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted.
Older homes tend to have generous ceiling heights, and a large share of homes around Nag's Head are that age. That leaves room for shelving above a desk right up to the picture rail or cornice. Some internal walls in older houses are lath and plaster, so fixings are chosen to suit.
You get the quote in writing, so there’s time to read it properly. It records the design, the materials and the finish we discussed.

What else we make in Nag's Head
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
For a plain desk on a flat wall, a ready-made option can do the job. Bespoke work makes sense in an alcove, under a slope, or where you want the desk, shelves and storage to work together. At the design visit, we will tell you honestly which approach suits your room. The two recesses beside a chimney breast are seldom an identical size, which means a matching pair of ready-made units seldom fits both. Fitted furniture is made to each one separately.
There’s no price list, because every piece is designed for one room. We measure up, discuss the design and send a quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To arrange a design visit, use our contact form.

Fitting day, step by step
Finishing comes last. With a spray finish from the workshop, there is usually only filling and touching up to do in the room; hand painting, if that’s what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. If your hall still has its original tiles or boards, they’re covered before any carrying starts. Fixings into older walls are made carefully, as lath and plaster can crack if treated roughly. Any decorating around the new pieces is for your decorator.

Practical tips
People planning fitted home offices often ask about these. They help whatever the room:
- Think about what will sit on the shelves
- Choose a calm colour for a working room
- Note what sits on and around your desk
- Note the position of sockets in the room
Load shelves evenly, with heavier books and files at the ends near the supports. It helps shelves stay straight. The shelves are made for what you said you’d keep on them.
Use a mat or coasters on the desk for hot drinks. Keep liquids away from the edge. A mat protects the area you use most.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
In a flat, the route in matters as much as the room. At the design visit, we measure the stairs, the landings, any lift and the doors, so the furniture can be made in sections that fit through without a struggle.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, and that is best sorted before fitting day. We can’t give advice on leases.
