Need loft storage in Barkingside?
What it’s made from
Moisture-resistant MDF
Because it cuts cleanly, MDF is ideal for angled panels under the slope. The grade we use is moisture-resistant and paints well. Most of what you see is MDF.
Plinths and scribe strips
Loft floors are often out of level. A plinth or adjustable feet let us set the storage level, so everything opens and closes as it should.
Loft storage in Barkingside
A converted loft often has more storage space than it first seems. We design and make eaves cupboards, drawers in the knee walls, wardrobes under the slopes and shelves in dormers, all made for the shape of the room. In Barkingside, as everywhere we work, it begins with a visit to measure and plan. We make eaves cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the things people most often want solved are a boarded loft with no proper shelving and furniture that can’t get up to the loft.
With interwar houses or semis a big part of the picture around Barkingside, many have had the loft converted, leaving low eaves and sloping ceilings. Fitted storage can make use of the eaves, the bay or the hall. For lofts, we work in spaces that are already converted or boarded.
After the design visit, we send you a quote in writing. It sets out the design we have talked through, the materials and the finish, so it is clear what’s included.

Your questions about loft storage in Barkingside
Is Barkingside in the area you cover for loft storage?
Yes. We cover all of Redbridge and the rest of London, and Barkingside is part of that. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
I live near Seven Kings station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Redbridge and the rest of London. You can fill in our short enquiry form to arrange a design visit.
What materials do you use for loft storage?
We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. The carcasses and drawer boxes are birch plywood, which is strong and holds screws well, and MDF takes paint well for the doors and panels. Everything is finished by spray painting or hand painting.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, Saturdays are possible by arrangement. Let us know when you first get in touch.
What finishes do you offer?
You can choose between two finishes: spray painted or hand painted. Spray painting gives a smooth, even finish, and hand painting is easy to touch up.
Can you get furniture up narrow loft stairs?
Every piece is made in sections that fit up the stairs. At the design visit, we measure the loft stairs, the turns and the landings. That way, even a large wardrobe can reach the loft.

DIY, flat-pack or bespoke
Long shelves are where off-the-shelf often struggles. How much a shelf bends depends on its span, depth and load, and long runs need a thicker shelf, a lip along the front or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.
The real difference is in the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.

How fitting day works
You’re welcome to ask questions while we work. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully and leaving the room tidy. The time the fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. It helps to clear the room and the route before we arrive. Fitting day starts with protecting the floors and setting out the pieces. The pieces are levelled, fitted to the walls and fixed back.
- First we hear about the loft room and what you’d like to store.
- We measure the eaves, the slopes and the stairs up to the loft.
- We agree the cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and send a written quote.
- Every part is made in our workshop, ready for a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
- We carry it up, fit it and check every door and drawer with you. Any hand painting is done in the loft.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about parking near your home
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through

Bespoke loft storage or ready-made?
Off-the-shelf furniture is made for straight walls and full-height ceilings. Under a slope, it leaves large gaps and wasted space. Bespoke storage follows the angle of the ceiling and fills the knee wall. It costs more than off-the-shelf furniture, and what you gain is the space a standard piece can’t reach. If a house has been extended or knocked through, the new walls and the old ones may not line up, and straight-sided ready-made units make that obvious. Fitted pieces are scribed to both.
Every room is priced on its own, because size, layout and finish change from job to job. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.
