Our fitted wardrobes across IG2
You can choose hinged or sliding doors. Hinged doors open a whole section at once. Sliding doors save that space in a narrow room, although only part of the wardrobe is open at a time. Which suits your room is something we talk through when we visit. Most enquiries start with damp or musty clothes against an external wall and too little room for clothes; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.
Getting everything level comes first. Floors are often out of level, so adjustable feet or a plinth take up the difference. After that, it is fixed to the wall using fixings that suit the wall, whether that is solid brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard.
- You get in touch and let us know what you keep in your wardrobes now.
- At the design visit we measure the room and plan the inside: long hanging, double hanging, shelves and drawers.
- The written quote sets out each wardrobe’s inside layout, the doors, the materials and the finish.
- Everything is built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, which holds screws well for rails and runners.
- The wardrobes are fitted in your home, spray-painted in the workshop or hand-painted on site, and the inside fittings go in last.
How our quotes work
Parking is part of the price picture in London. The boroughs run controlled parking zones across much of the city, so a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension. Let us know about parking at the measuring visit, so it can be planned.

How to get a quote
Photos help us understand the room before we visit. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them give us a good feel for the space, along with rough measurements. To share them, get in touch through our contact form, and we will arrange a design visit.
What’s near Newbury Park
Around Newbury Park, we cover homes near Valentines Park, Saint Laurence Church and Newbury Park Primary School, among other places. The closest station to Newbury Park is Seven Kings station, about 1 mile south-east of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Goodmayes Hospital (1 mile east) and Redbridge Museum (1.4 miles south).
Fitted wardrobes for homes across IG2
We make fitted wardrobes for homes across IG2, in Ilford, Newbury Park and Gants Hill and beyond. External walls can be colder than internal ones, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps avoid condensation. Fixings are chosen for the wall, whatever it’s made of.
About 38% of the homes in IG2 went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 34% before 1919, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. We take that into account during the design visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. About 38% of homes in the IG2 postcode district date from between 1919 and 1939, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Houses from that era often have a box room over the stairs, with a raised bulkhead in the floor, which suits fitted storage made around its bulkhead. Terraced houses are home to about 38% of households in IG2, in the ONS Census 2021 figures. London terraces usually have a small back bedroom and alcoves in the main bedroom, which suit fitted furniture.
We cover the whole of London, so homes in IG2 are well within our area. If you’re unsure about access or parking, mention it when you get in touch.
Newbury Park: Valentines Mansion, about 0.9 miles west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where fitted wardrobes go. If your home is one of the older houses near Saint Laurence Church, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind fitted wardrobes is part of the design.
Flat-pack or bespoke?
What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.
It’s worth being honest about cost: flat-pack is normally cheaper to buy. Bespoke makes more sense where the room is tricky, the space is valuable or you want the furniture to look built in.
Flats, blocks and rented homes
Mansion blocks and purpose-built blocks often have house rules about lifts, entry systems and when trades can come in. Tell us about them during the design visit, and we will plan the fitting around them.
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let. It is made from the same moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood as any of our work, finished by spray or by hand.
How we price fitted wardrobes
What you pay depends on:
- How square the room is
- The overall size of the piece
- Parking and unloading on your street
- How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
How it’s painted is part of the price: spray painting happens in the workshop, and hand painting can be done in your home. The written quote reflects your choice, along with the size and fittings.
Helping us understand the room
You don’t need exact measurements or a plan. Just send what you can:
- Anything in the way, like radiators, sockets, switches, a boiler or meters
- A few photos of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
- The type of home and how the room is reached
- Examples of the look you’re after
If you know what you want, say so; if not, we can work it out together at the visit. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To start, get in touch through our contact form.
When you need someone else
We do not treat damp or carry out building work, so these points are worth knowing:
- Treating damp or mould on the walls
- Removing walls, chimney breasts or any structural work
- Painting walls and ceilings, or repairing plaster
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Standard wardrobes can’t follow a slope. A bespoke wardrobe can be shaped to follow the slope.
Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
- Whether the quote says what the furniture is made from
- Whether they can show you real projects they’ve done
- Where they’ll park and unload
Questions we’re often asked
Can you add sockets inside the units?
No. Sockets, switches and lighting are for your electrician. We’ll design around them.
Is it possible to have storage over the bed?
Yes. Building around the bed uses a wall that often goes unused, with wardrobes at the sides and cupboards overhead. The bed size and room are measured when we visit.
What happens when you come to measure?
We measure the room, check how level the walls and floors are and discuss the design with you. Access and parking are worth talking about too, and afterwards we send a written quote.
Do I get to choose the colour?
The choice is yours. Whichever finish you pick, it is in the colour you’ve chosen.
Is the furniture made to order?
Everything is made in our workshop for your room, then brought to your home and fitted. We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
Can a fitted wardrobe go against a cold wall?
Yes. We plan ventilation behind and inside wardrobes on external walls, in moisture-resistant MDF. Any existing damp needs dealing with before fitting.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, by prior arrangement. Tell us when you get in touch if a Saturday suits you best.
