Loft storage designed for your room
Loft storage in Brackenbury Village
We build storage in lofts that are already converted or boarded. We do not carry out loft conversions, and Building Regulations apply to a conversion. Once the room is finished, we can design storage to suit it. If you have a converted loft in Brackenbury Village, the design visit is the first step. We make eaves cupboards from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted, and the usual reasons to get in touch are a loft room with too many jobs and an empty dormer that could hold shelves.
Hallways in period terraces are often long and narrow, with the stairs rising along one wall. A large share of the homes around Brackenbury Village were built before 1919, so every bit of depth is weighed up when storage is planned. Shallow units keep the way through clear.
A quote in writing is the clearest record of what we have agreed. It describes the eaves cupboard we’ve designed for the room, its materials and its finish.

Caring for painted furniture
Looking after painted furniture is simple. A few things help it stay looking good:
- Consider drawers for the deep, low spaces
- Plan where the tall end of a wardrobe can go
- Bring paint colours you like to the design visit
- Look at the insulation and any vents behind the knee wall
Before we leave, we check every door and drawer with you. If there’s an access door to the eaves, we make sure it opens fully. You will know it all works as it should.
Keep sharp or very heavy items away from the painted fronts. Store tools in a box, not loose against the doors. Minor chips can be touched up with the matching colour.
Fitting day, step by step
When the fitting is done, we tidy the room and lift the floor protection. Before we go, we look over the finished furniture with you and answer any questions. The time the fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Scribing is done on site, which means some cutting in the room or close by, so a clear area to work in near the room helps. Dust is kept down and cleared up as we go. Hand painting, if that is your finish, can follow the fitting.
- It starts with a few details from you.
- We come to measure and go through the design and finish.
- Your written quote sets out the design, materials and finish.
- The storage is made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, and sprayed there if you chose a spray finish.
- The storage is fitted and scribed to the slopes, and any hand painting is done on site.
- Go easy on new paintwork while it cures; hand-painted surfaces are easy to touch up later.
Before we arrive
- Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand

Common questions about loft storage
I live near Shepherds Bush station. Is that in your area?
Yes, homes across Hammersmith and Fulham and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can tell us about the room on our contact form to arrange a design visit.
My home in Brackenbury Village is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?
At the design visit, we measure the way in as well as the room. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. It helps to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
Someone needs to let us in. It is good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.
What if the wall is cold or damp?
An outside wall can be colder and damper than an inside one, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps to avoid condensation. Any damp needs sorting by the right specialist before fitting.
My walls are not straight. Is that a problem?
It is something we deal with all the time. The furniture is scribed to follow the walls and levelled on feet or a plinth, so it sits tight to the room.
How is loft storage priced?
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. The mix of cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and the finish, all play a part. Everything is set out in a written quote after the visit.
DIY, flat-pack or bespoke
Off-the-shelf cupboards come in fixed sizes, so there is often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Furniture we make is built to the room’s own sizes, so it can use the full height and width.
Where bespoke earns its keep is in rooms that aren’t square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths, which leaves standard units with gaps at the sides and top.

Loft storage for homes in Brackenbury Village
In the area around Brackenbury Village, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 63%) and the years since 2000 (about 12%), based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. Brackenbury Village is partly covered by a conservation area, going by Historic England’s data. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If you are unsure, check with the council before work starts. More than half of the homes in the area around Brackenbury Village (about 63%) were built before 1919, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Many older terraces have had loft conversions, leaving eaves spaces and slopes that suit fitted storage; we build storage once the loft is converted or boarded.
For families living near Brackenbury Primary School, a place for each person’s coat and shoes stops the hallway filling up. Near listed buildings like Church of the Holy Innocents, under half a mile south-west of the centre of Brackenbury Village, older homes may keep original joinery that eaves cupboards can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. If you live in a period home close to Church of the Holy Innocents, the knee walls of a converted loft can take drawers as well as cupboards.

What affects the price in Brackenbury Village
Prices vary from room to room, for these reasons:
- How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
- Doors and drawers, and how many
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Parking near your home
Every room is priced on its own, because the size, the layout and the finish all vary. Spray painting and hand painting are different processes, which affects the cost. You’ll see the figure in your written quote, after the design visit.
Helping us understand the room
These details help when you contact us:
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- Any ideas or images you’ve saved
- Where you live, with the postcode
- Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
Rough measurements are fine at the start. We measure everything properly at the measuring visit, including how level the floor and ceiling are. To get started, tell us about the room on our contact form and tell us about the room. You receive a quote in writing after the visit.
