Loft storage in Falconwood, Bexley

In Falconwood, we design loft storage around the room you actually have. We design your eaves cupboard at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

  • A new loft conversion that needs storage
  • Clothes with nowhere to go in a loft bedroom
  • A loft room with too many jobs

Ask about loft storage in Falconwood

Could you do it yourself?

The real difference is in the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.

Off-the-shelf cupboards come in fixed sizes, so there is often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Furniture we make is built to the room’s own sizes, so it can run to the ceiling and fill the width.

Loft storage in Falconwood: what you get

The space behind the knee wall usually has insulation and ventilation to think about. We design the storage so it doesn’t block airflow or crush insulation. If anything looks wrong behind the eaves, it’s worth asking whoever converted the loft. When we visit in Falconwood, we will see what’s there. If your home has needing storage in a loft office and furniture that can’t get up to the loft, eaves cupboards made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted can solve it.

If you live in one of the interwar houses or semis around Falconwood, the hall is often wide enough for coat and shoe storage. Bay windows suit seating with drawers or lift-up lids, with a grille so any radiator below keeps heating the room. Eaves cupboards are measured and made for the house you have.

The quote comes in writing, so there’s time to read it properly and share it with anyone else involved. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Storage in Falconwood homes: local notes

In the streets around Falconwood, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 73%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 13%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. We take that into account during the design visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. TfL’s Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every part of London, Bexley included. It applies to every van that comes to fit furniture in Falconwood. Access and parking are talked through at the design visit. Parking controls in London are set borough by borough, so Bexley has its own. If your road in Falconwood falls in a zone, the van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know about parking at the measuring visit.

Danson House, about 1 mile east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, eaves cupboards in a converted loft are scribed to slopes that are rarely even. For a family home near Bishop Ridley Church of England VA Primary School, deep drawers suit the bulky things families collect, from scooters to swimming kit.

Falconwood is about 2 miles south of Sidcup, in the London Borough of Bexley. Falconwood is part of the area we cover. Our work takes in places right across Bexley, large and small.

We cover every part of DA16, DA15 and SE9 for loft storage. You will find streets here like Hook Lane, Gordon Road and Kent Avenue, and homes on each of them are within our area for loft storage. How fitting day works

Getting everything level comes first. Where the floor slopes, we bring the furniture up to level on adjustable feet or a plinth, and that keeps the doors and shelves true. After that, it is fixed to the wall using fixings that suit the wall, whether that’s solid brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Fitting day means carrying in the sections, joining them and fitting them to the walls. Hand-painted furniture can be finished on site; spray-painted pieces arrive finished from the workshop. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.

  1. It starts with some details from you.
  2. At the design visit we measure up and agree the layout and colour.
  3. A quote in writing follows.
  4. We make the cupboards and drawers in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. The storage is fitted and scribed to the slopes, and any hand painting is done on site.
  6. Fresh paint needs time to cure, so use the doors and drawers gently at first.

Related advice

Is it time for loft storage?

The most common reason is wasted space. The low spaces at the edge of a loft room are hard to use. Cupboards and drawers built into the knee wall put it to work.

These come up often when people first get in touch:

  • A loft room that still feels unfinished
  • A boarded loft with no proper shelving
  • A dormer that isn’t being used
  • Low eaves that nobody can use

Close to Shoulder of Mutton Green? Living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and eaves cupboards can give those things a place.

Questions we’re often asked

Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Falconwood?

It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. It helps to tell us about parking at the measuring visit.

Is Falconwood in the area you cover for loft storage?

Yes. Falconwood is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Bexley and London. To get started, you can tell us about the room on our contact form with some details.

Do I need to be in when you fit?

We need someone to let us in. It’s good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.

How do you get large pieces into a loft?

We measure the stairs and landings as well as the loft room. We size every section for the tightest turn, and then assembled in the loft.

How much does loft storage cost?

Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. The size of the room, the amount of storage and the finish all shape the price. For a quote, get in touch through our contact form to arrange a design visit.

Is it possible to fit a wardrobe under the slope?

Yes. A wardrobe made for the slope fits where a standard one cannot. Hanging goes where there’s height, with shelves where it’s low. It’s scribed to the slope and walls.

What loft storage cannot fix

Our work is the furniture itself: designing it, making it in our workshop and fitting it. That means:

  • Adding or replacing insulation
  • Anything that needs Building Regulations sign-off
  • Altering the structure of the loft

If in doubt, you can use our contact form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. How it works.

Boards, parts and finishes

  • Spray-painted finish

  • Eaves doors and drawers
  • Birch plywood
  • Moisture-resistant MDF

Made for the room, or bought in a box?

If you only need a few boxes in a boarded loft, standalone shelving may be enough. A fitted design earns its place in a loft room you live in. At the design visit, we will tell you honestly which approach suits your loft. Standard widths rarely add up to the length of a real wall, so fitted furniture is made to the wall’s own length. It can use the full height too.

The inside of the furniture affects the price as well: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. At the design visit, we work out what you need inside.
