Loft storage for your home in Harrow Weald
Loft storage in Harrow Weald
Getting furniture up to a loft room is part of the planning. We measure the route not just the room, so every section made at our workshop fits up the stairs. It’s part of the job for any loft room in Harrow Weald. We make eaves cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the usual reasons to get in touch are boxes and suitcases with no home and no wardrobe that fits under the slope.
Coats, shoes, bags and the vacuum cleaner all need somewhere to go in a family house. Around Harrow Weald, where interwar homes, semis and detached houses make up a big part of the housing, fitted storage near the front door can take much of it. Meters and fuse boards stay easy to reach.
The furniture is made in our workshop after you have had the quote and decided to go ahead. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so you can check every detail beforehand.

How we price loft storage
Every room is different, so every job is quoted on its own. These are the things that affect it:
- Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
- The width and height of the space
- Access to the room, like stairs, lifts and narrow halls
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
Parking is part of the price picture in London. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay near your home. It helps to talk about parking during the design visit.
Before the design visit
To give us a picture of the room, it is useful to include:
- The type of home and how the room is reached
- A few pictures of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
- Any ideas or images you have saved
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
To get a quote, send us a few details through our contact form and let us know which room you have in mind and what you want the furniture to do. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a written quote follows.
What else we make in Harrow Weald
What prompts loft storage in Harrow Weald
Many people get in touch once their loft conversion is complete. Standard furniture rarely suits the new room. Storage made for the slopes completes it.
Here’s what loft storage can help with:
- A loft room with too many jobs
- A loft room that still feels unfinished
- Seasonal things cluttering the loft room
- A boarded loft with no proper shelving
Living in a block of flats near Headstone Lane station? Then check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in.
Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
- Whether the route into your home has been checked
- Do they scribe the furniture to the walls?
- Who does any electrics, plumbing or gas work
Made for the room, or bought in a box?
A standalone wardrobe can go with you when you move. Fitted storage stays with the house, and it uses the slopes in a way a standalone piece can’t. Which suits you depends on your plans. Off-the-shelf furniture comes in a few set depths, which may be too deep for one spot and too shallow for another. With fitted furniture, the depth is chosen for the room.
Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. The price depends mainly on the size of the piece, how many doors and drawers it has and what goes inside.
Why choose us

What happens on fitting day
Finishing comes last. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; hand painting, if that’s what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. Loft stairs in an interwar house can be tight, with a low ceiling at the top, so any section going up there is sized for them. Elsewhere in the house, the route is usually more generous. Each section is assembled and fixed in the room.
- To begin, fill in our short enquiry form; a brief note on the loft and the storage you want is enough.
- At the design visit we measure the knee walls and the angle of each slope at more than one point, as they’re rarely even.
- A written quote follows, with the design, materials and finish.
- In our workshop we build each section from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood to follow the slope.
- We fit the storage in the loft, trimming the edges so they meet the ceiling neatly, with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
How to prepare
- Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
- Empty the space we’ll be working in
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
Starting with a design visit
The design visit is where every quote starts. We take full measurements, see how true the walls and floors are and work through the design together. A written quote follows the visit, so you can take your time with it. To arrange the visit, send us a few details through our contact form.

When is bespoke worth it?
Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. In a room with square walls and standard sizes, it can work well, and it is quick to buy.
Where bespoke earns its keep is in rooms that are not square. In period homes, walls lean, floors slope and the alcoves on each side are often different widths, which leaves standard units with gaps at the sides and top.
Common questions about loft storage
Can you make loft storage for a home in Harrow Weald?
Yes, Harrow Weald is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Harrow and the rest of London. The first step is a design visit, where we measure and discuss the design, followed by a quote.
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Harrow Weald?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It is useful to let us know about parking at the measuring visit.
Will the storage fit up my loft stairs?
We make the storage in sections sized for the route. We measure the way up as well as the room. That way, even a large wardrobe can reach the loft.
Can you convert my loft as well?
No. We don’t carry out loft conversions. We design and fit storage once the room is in place, including eaves cupboards, knee-wall drawers and wardrobes.
Can you fit furniture to uneven walls?
Uneven walls are normal in older London homes, and the furniture is made to deal with them. Edges are scribed to the wall, and adjustable feet or a plinth bring the furniture up to level.
How much does loft storage cost?
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. The mix of cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and the finish, all play a part. Everything is set out in a written quote after the visit.
