Loft storage for your home in Kingsland
About our loft storage in Kingsland
Getting furniture up to a loft room is part of the planning. At the design visit, we measure the stairs and landings as well as the loft, so the sections we make in our workshop can be carried up. It’s a step that matters for any loft in Kingsland. We make eaves cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the things people most often want solved are low eaves that nobody can use and a boarded loft with no proper shelving.
Purpose-built flats are home to most households around Kingsland, and in a flat, the hall, the recesses and the windows are where extra storage normally goes. Eaves cupboards are made in sections that fit the stairs, lift and doors. If a boiler or consumer unit sits in a cupboard, it keeps its clearances and access.
After the design visit, we send you a quote in writing. It describes the design we discussed, the materials and the finish, so it is clear what’s included.

Fitted storage in Kingsland
About 37% of the homes in the neighbourhood around Kingsland went up before 1919, and about 23% between 1945 and 1972, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. The National Heritage List has 108 entries within half a mile of the centre of Kingsland. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and the furniture can be designed around them rather than over them. Red routes are run by TfL, with tight limits on where and when vehicles can stop. If you live on or close to a main road in Kingsland, let us know at the design visit. Then we can work out where to load and unload.
Close to Shoreditch Park? Living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and eaves cupboards can give those things a place. If your home is one of the older houses near Holy Trinity Church, eaves cupboards in a converted loft are scribed to slopes that are rarely even.
Kingsland is in the London Borough of Hackney, about 1 mile south of Shoreditch. From period terraces to newer flats in Kingsland, we measure the room as it is and design around it. Kingsland is one of the places in Hackney where we make loft storage, and the borough has 20 places on our list.
Every address in N1, E8 and N16 is within our area for loft storage, from the main roads to the quieter streets. If your home is on a street like Dove Road, Glebe Road and Ufton Road, or close by, we can arrange a design visit for loft storage. Nearby, we also make loft storage in De Beauvoir Town (1 mile south-west), Dalston (1 mile east), Mildmay (1 mile north-west), Canonbury (1 mile west) and Newington Green (1 mile north-west). Other parts of Hackney we cover include Stamford Hill (2 miles north), Upper Clapton (2 miles north-east), Manor House (2 miles north-west), Lea Bridge (2 miles north-east) and Hackney Marshes (2 miles north-east).
Around Kingsland

Questions from Kingsland
Do you cover homes near Dalston Junction station?
Yes, homes across Hackney and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can send us a few details through our contact form with some details about the room, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.
Can you make loft storage for a home in Kingsland?
Yes, we work across Hackney, Kingsland included, and across the rest of London. To get started, you can use our contact form with some details.
How long will the loft storage fitting take?
How long the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and your quote sets out the fitting days. We make the cupboards and drawers in our workshop, so the time at your home is spent fitting. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
What if my walls and floors are out of level?
Walls and floors that aren’t true are part of the job in older homes. We trim the edges to follow the wall and level the base, so it sits tight to the room.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, we can arrange Saturdays. Just mention it when you contact us, and we’ll see what we can do.
Can you add sockets inside the units?
No. Electrical work isn’t something we do; it’s a job for your electrician. We can plan cable routes into the design, and new sockets should be in place before fitting day.
From workshop to your room
With the carcasses fixed and level, any doors go on and any drawers or lids are fitted. Each one is adjusted until the gaps are even and it closes cleanly. How long fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Where there’s no lift, each section is sized to be carried up the stairs safely. The stair turns and landings set the limit. The pieces are assembled in the flat.

Advice

More for homes in Kingsland
What it’s made from
Doors and drawer fronts
The doors and drawer fronts are the face of the storage. We make them plain or panelled, with handles to match. They’re cut to follow the angle of the ceiling.
Pull-out drawers
The space behind a knee wall is deep and low, so drawers that slide out are often the answer. Everything is in view when the drawer is open. We plan them around any access the eaves need.
Flat-pack or bespoke?
Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that aren’t square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths.
What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.
What prompts loft storage in Kingsland
Some people want to make more of a dormer. Shelves, a desk or a seat in the dormer make it useful. It uses space that is otherwise empty.
These come up often when people first get in touch:
- Space under the eaves going to waste
- Unused space in a dormer
- Furniture that can’t get up to the loft
- Nowhere to store bags and boxes
For a family home near Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School, deep drawers suit the bulky things families collect, from scooters to swimming kit.
Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- How they deal with uneven walls and floors
- Which materials they’ll use, named in the quote
- How parking will work on your street
- Will the quote be in writing?
Where other trades come in
Electrics, plumbing, gas, plastering and structural work aren’t part of what we do. Please bear these in mind too:
- Building work to turn a loft into a room
- Adding or replacing insulation
- Electrical work in the loft
If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can message us from the contact page and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.
