Bespoke loft storage or ready-made?
Off-the-shelf wardrobes often don’t fit up narrow loft stairs. We make each piece in sections that fit up the stairs. It means a full wardrobe can still reach the room. Recesses, sloping ceilings and tricky corners are where ready-made furniture struggles most, and most homes have at least one. Fitted furniture is designed around them.
No two rooms cost the same to furnish, because size, layout and finish change from job to job. Spray painting and hand painting are different processes, which affects the cost. You’ll see the figure in your written quote, after the design visit.
Why us?
- A design visit, then a quote in writing
- Fitted tight to walls that aren’t straight
- Made in moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood
- Saturday visits and fitting by prior arrangement

Loft storage in Hackney Marshes
A loft room can hold a great deal of storage, if the low spaces are used well. Our loft storage includes eaves cupboards, knee-wall drawers, wardrobes under sloping ceilings and dormer shelving, all made for the shape of the room. In Hackney Marshes, as everywhere we work, it begins with a visit to measure and plan. We make eaves cupboards from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted, and the things people most often want solved are seasonal things cluttering the loft room and unused space in a dormer.
A deep cupboard can lose things at the back, so drawers, lift-up lids or shallow shelves are chosen to suit the space. Whatever kind of home you have in Hackney Marshes, the right answer depends on the depth and the height. Services like meters and boilers stay reachable.
The furniture is built in our workshop after you’ve had the quote and decided to go ahead. The quote sets out the agreed design, materials and finish, so you can check every detail beforehand.

From workshop to your room
Fitting day follows a set order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. At the end, we tidy up and go over the work with you. The time the fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. It is useful to clear the room and the route in before fitting day, including anything on the walls near the work. Floors and doorways are protected before anything comes in. Sections are then carried in and assembled.
- To begin, message us from the contact page; a brief note on the loft and the storage you want is enough.
- At the design visit we measure the knee walls and the angle of each slope at more than one point, as they’re rarely even.
- A written quote follows, with the design, materials and finish.
- In our workshop we build each section from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood to follow the slope.
- We fit the storage in the loft, trimming the edges so they meet the ceiling neatly, with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
How to prepare
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
- Let us know about parking near your home
- Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
How to get a quote
You don’t need exact measurements to get started. We measure everything properly at the design visit, including how level the floor and ceiling are. To arrange it, tell us about the room on our contact form and tell us about the room. The written quote follows the visit.
Advice
What affects the price in Hackney Marshes
We quote each job after the design visit, because no two rooms are the same. This is what makes the difference:
- The internal fittings
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- The width and height of the space
- Awkward walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors
Parking is part of the price picture in London. The boroughs run controlled parking zones across much of the city, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay near your home. Tell us about parking at the design visit, so we can plan for it.
Helping us understand the room
There’s no need for exact sizes or plans. Just send what you can:
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- Photos of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling
- Anything in the way, like radiators, sockets, switches, a boiler or meters
- Examples of the look you are after
For a quote for loft storage in Hackney Marshes, message us from the contact page. Let us know which room it is and roughly what you have in mind, with sizes if you have them. We will arrange a design visit, then send a written quote.
Your questions about loft storage in Hackney Marshes
Is Hackney Marshes in the area you cover for loft storage?
Yes, we work across Hackney, Hackney Marshes included, and across the rest of London. You can message us from the contact page to arrange a design visit.
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Lea Bridge station?
Yes. We cover all of Hackney and the rest of London. You can drop us a line using the contact form to arrange a design visit.
How is loft storage priced?
Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. Drawers in the knee wall typically involve more work than simple cupboards, and the finish matters too. We set it all out in a written quote.
What are your eaves cupboards made from?
Our loft storage is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, then painted. Stable materials suit a loft, where temperatures can vary. Your quote confirms the materials and finish.
How long does it take to fit loft storage?
The time the fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Because everything is made at our workshop, the work in your home is the fitting itself. We keep the route up to the loft as clear as possible.
Do you carry out loft conversions?
No, we build storage in lofts that are already converted or boarded. A conversion is building work, and Building Regulations apply. Once your loft is converted, we can design the storage.

Before and after fitting day
Fresh paintwork takes a while to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. After that, a few simple habits help:
- Look at the insulation and any vents behind the knee wall
- Choose a calm colour for the loft
- Mention any parking rules on your street
- Count the clothes you’ll need to hang
A soft, damp cloth is the best way to keep the storage clean. Avoid scourers and harsh cleaners. Handles and drawer edges pick up marks first.
Keep sharp or very heavy items away from the painted fronts. Put tools in a case so they do not knock the paint. A small chip on a hand-painted finish is easy to touch in.
Honest limits
We’d rather be clear about where our work stops:
- Any work on the structure of the house
- Electrical work in the loft
- Adding or replacing insulation
If in doubt, you can tell us about the room on our contact form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. How a job runs, step by step.
What goes into it

Hackney Marshes homes and loft storage
Homes built before 1919 make up about 33% of the housing in the area around Hackney Marshes, with about 28% built between 1973 and 1999, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. Near the centre of Hackney Marshes, Historic England’s list includes Clapton Park Lower School (Grade II), less than half a mile west, and Daubeny Infants' School (Grade II), under half a mile south-west. Listing covers the inside of a building as well as the outside, so works that affect a listed home’s character, like removing original joinery, can require listed building consent. An early word with the council’s conservation officer is the best first step. The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) now covers the whole of London, Hackney included. So any van that delivers or fits furniture in Hackney Marshes is covered by it. Parking and access are planned at the design visit.
Living in a block of flats near Lea Bridge station? Then each piece is planned so it can be carried up and joined together in the room. If you live near Leyton Jubilee Park, living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and eaves cupboards can give those things a place. For an older house near The Risen Christ and All Souls, the low eaves and slopes of a converted loft are worth using.
Hackney Marshes is about 3 miles south-west of Shoreditch, part of the London Borough of Hackney. Wherever you are in Hackney Marshes, the process is the same: we visit and measure, send a written quote, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it. We list Hackney Marshes among 20 places we cover in Hackney.
Design visits and fitting in E5, E10 and E9 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. We cover homes on streets like Glyn Road, Gilpin Road and Redwald Road, along with the roads around them, for loft storage and any of our other fitted furniture. The A106 run close to Hackney Marshes; on busy main roads, unloading eaves cupboards takes a little planning. Neighbouring places we cover for loft storage include Leyton Grange (1 mile north-east), Lea Bridge (1 mile north-west), Homerton (1 mile south-west), Lower Clapton (1 mile south-west) and Temple Mills (1 mile south-east). Across the rest of Hackney, our area takes in Shoreditch (3 miles south-west), Hoxton (3 miles south-west), West Hackney (2 miles west), De Beauvoir Town (2 miles south-west), Hackney Central (2 miles south-west) and London Fields (2 miles south-west).
