Walk-in wardrobes in Alperton: what you get
Our walk-in wardrobes are made for homes in Alperton and all over London. We begin with a design visit, measuring the room and talking through the design, then a quote in writing. Once agreed, we make the units in our workshop and fit them in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you’ll know before we start. We make walk-in wardrobes from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted, and people most often get in touch about long and double hanging planned around your clothes and setting aside a corner of a large bedroom.
Bedrooms in interwar houses often have a picture rail but a plainer ceiling than a Victorian room, which makes it simple to take fitted furniture up to the ceiling. If yours is one of the interwar houses or semis that make up much of the housing around Alperton, the top cupboards can hold suitcases and spare bedding. Skirting boards are cut around neatly.
The furniture is built in our workshop after you have had the quote and decided to go ahead. The quote sets out the agreed design, materials and finish, so you can check every detail beforehand.

Before and after fitting day
Fresh paintwork takes a while to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. Beyond that, these tips help:
- Count your shoes before the design visit
- Think about whether you want doors
- Deal with any damp walls first
- Know what you’ll keep before planning
Store heavy things on lower shelves, and do not overload a single rail. That keeps the hanging and shelves in good shape.
Deal with any damp before the units go in. External walls can be colder and damper, and ventilation inside the units helps.

Common questions about walk-in wardrobes
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Alperton?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
I live near Wembley Central station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. You can use our contact form to arrange a design visit.
Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?
External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps to avoid condensation. If there is damp, it should be sorted before anything is fitted.
What do you do at the measuring visit?
We measure the space and discuss the design, materials and finish. We look at the walls, floors and anything the furniture has to work around, and the written quote comes afterwards.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.
Do pictures help?
Yes. Pictures help us understand the room before the design visit, along with rough measurements. It is useful to show radiators, sockets and anything else on the wall.
Fitting day, step by step
The last stage of the day is the finish. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; if you chose hand painting, that can be done in the room once the furniture is fitted. The finish is always the one agreed in your quote. It is useful to clear the room and the route before we arrive. On the day, we cover the floors first, then bring the sections in. The pieces are levelled, fitted to the walls and fixed back.
- To begin, get in touch through our contact form; a brief note on the room and what it needs to store is plenty.
- We visit to measure up and work out the layout inside, including any dressing table.
- You receive a quote in writing for the walk-in wardrobe.
- We build the carcasses, shelves and drawers in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- The walk-in wardrobe is fitted, with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish, and the inside fittings go in last.
Getting ready for fitting day
- Let us know where the boiler and meters are
- Let us know about parking near your home
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager

How it’s made
Spray-painted finish
Spray painting suits a dressing room that should look crisp, and it’s finished before fitting day.
Moisture-resistant MDF
Moisture-resistant MDF is stable and takes paint well for a clean, even look.
Is it time for walk-in wardrobes?
Sharing one wardrobe between two rarely works for long. A walk-in wardrobe can be planned with a side for each, so neither of you is squeezed.
These come up often when people first get in touch:
- A side each for a couple
- A walk-in wardrobe within the bedroom
- Room for a growing wardrobe
- A calmer, clearer bedroom
The wider area includes historic houses such as Pitzhanger Manor, about 2.1 miles south. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice.
Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- Will the quote be in writing?
- How doors and drawers are fitted
- Real projects you can actually look at
- Have they thought about parking near you?
Bedrooms in Alperton: local notes
About 57% of the homes in the area around Alperton went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 25% since 2000, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how walk-in wardrobes are fixed and fitted. 5 conservation areas have at least part of their area within a mile of the centre of Alperton. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. Many London boroughs run controlled parking zones, and Brent sets its own rules. If parking near you is controlled, a visitor permit or a bay suspension may be needed, and the council arranges suspensions, often with notice. It is useful to tell us about parking at the design visit.
Close to St. Raphael's Edible Garden? Keeping walk-in wardrobes off the window wall keeps the room bright. For families living near Alperton Community School, a mix of drawers and shelves copes with school uniform as well as everything else.

What it costs
There is no set price, because there is no set room. The things that affect it are:
- How big the furniture is
- Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
- Parking and unloading on your street
- How many doors and drawers there are
The finish affects the cost: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. Your choice, along with the size and the fittings, is reflected in the written quote.
Before the design visit
To help us picture the room, please include:
- Examples of the look you are after
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- Approximate measurements of the space
- Where you live, with the postcode
Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Each room is different, so we quote after seeing it, once the room is measured and the design talked through. For a quote, tell us about the room on our contact form.
