Bespoke kitchens in Park Royal
Many people want a tall larder for food, tins and small appliances. A larder can have shelves, deep drawers and racks, sized to what you keep in them. Built into an alcove or the end of a wall, it puts awkward space to work. If you’re living with a dresser that suits a period house and a pantry cupboard with shelves and drawers, kitchens made from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted can solve it.
In newer homes, the washing machine is often in the kitchen, with no utility room, so a tall cupboard for laundry and cleaning things can help. Around Park Royal, many homes were built since 2000. Plumbing for appliances is for your plumber.
Everything we agree during the design visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If something is not quite right, tell us before anything is made.

- Electrics, sockets and lighting (your electrician)
- Structural changes to the room

What happens on fitting day
If anything comes up on the day, just ask. Most of the decisions were made at the design visit and set out in your quote, so the day itself is about careful fitting. How long fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Parking at newer developments can be restricted, with private bays or loading areas, so it is useful to let us know at the design visit. On fitting day, the sections are carried in, assembled and fixed. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
- First, you tell us about the kitchen you have and the one you want.
- At the design visit we measure the room and talk through the layout, storage and finish.
- We send a quote that sets out the design, materials and finish.
- The units are made and finished in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit the cabinets in your home; plumbing, gas and electrics are done by your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician.
Before we arrive
- Get any new sockets or wiring done by your electrician before fitting day
- Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
Arranging a design visit
If you know what you want, say so; if not, we can work it out together at the visit. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To arrange a visit, fill in our short enquiry form.
Advice
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
A confident DIYer can manage simple shelves or a standard wardrobe in a square room. Sloping ceilings, uneven floors and lath-and-plaster walls make it harder, where scribing and fixings that suit the wall are important.
Long shelves are where off-the-shelf often struggles. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.
Made-to-measure kitchens in Park Royal
Homes built since 2000 make up about 57% of the housing in the area around Park Royal, with about 19% built between 1919 and 1939, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. 4 conservation areas have at least part of their area less than a mile from the middle of Park Royal. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. About 57% of homes around Park Royal were built since 2000, well above the figure for Ealing as a whole, about 18%, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. Newer homes often have stud walls and compact rooms, so fixings and sizes are planned with that in mind.
For families living near West Twyford Primary School, a tall cupboard by the door can take school bags and coats as part of the kitchen. Living in a block of flats near Harlesden station? Then the lift, the stair turns and the front door all set the largest piece that can come in. If you live near St. Raphael's Edible Garden, a tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design.

Flats, conversions and lettings
Blocks of flats often have their own rules on lift bookings, entry systems and times for trades. Let us know about them at the design visit, and we’ll plan the fitting around them.
In a flat, the route in matters as much as the room. At the design visit, we measure the stairs, the landings, any lift and the doors, so the furniture can be made in sections that fit through.
What affects the cost of bespoke kitchens
Each piece is designed for one room, so each price is too. The things that affect it are:
- Where a van can park, such as a permit bay or a bay suspension
- The number of doors and drawers
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- The overall size of the piece
The inside of the furniture affects the price as well: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. At the design visit, we work out what you need inside.
What to send when you contact us
The more you can tell us at the start, the better the design visit goes. When you contact us, it is useful to send:
- Approximate measurements of the space
- Whether it is a house or a flat, and if there are stairs or a lift
- Any ideas or images you’ve saved
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
To get a quote, use our contact form and tell us a little about the room. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a quote in writing follows.

Common questions about bespoke kitchens
Is parking a problem for fitting in Park Royal?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
Do you make bespoke kitchens for homes in Park Royal?
Yes. Park Royal is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Ealing and London. To get started, you can tell us about the room on our contact form with a few details.
What does a bespoke kitchen cost?
Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. A small galley and a large kitchen with a larder and island are very different jobs, so we quote once we’ve measured. To arrange a visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.
Can I choose my own worktop and appliances?
We plan the kitchen around the worktop, sink and appliances you choose. Knowing their sizes early helps, and your quote sets out what’s included.
How long does fitting take?
It depends on the kitchen. The time the fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and your quote sets out the fitting days.
Do I need to be in when you fit?
We need access, so someone has to let us in. After that, you don’t need to stay in the room.
