Bespoke kitchens for homes in West Green
A dresser brings a traditional feel to a kitchen, and it suits many period homes. Each dresser is made for its wall, scribed to follow it and painted to suit the room. People normally come to us about a pantry cupboard with shelves and drawers and an island where space allows, and the answer is made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.
Ceilings in homes built before 1919 are often tall, and a large share of the homes around West Green date from then. Kitchen cabinets can go higher, with tall larders and top cupboards for occasional things. Cabinets are made from moisture-resistant MDF or birch plywood, with the finish agreed in your quote.
Once you have read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is made in our workshop. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so every detail can be checked first.

Questions we’re often asked
My home in West Green is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?
At the design visit, we measure the way in along with the room itself. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. It’s useful to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
I live near Seven Sisters station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Haringey and the rest of London. To get started, you can get in touch through our contact form with a few details about the room.
What are your kitchens made from?
We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray painting or hand painting. Your quote sets out the materials and finish.
Can I choose my own worktop and appliances?
The worktop, sink and appliances are the ones you choose, and we design the cabinets around them. Your quote sets out what’s included.
Can you build an island in my kitchen?
If there’s enough room, yes. An island needs clear floor around it to open doors and move about, and we measure for it during the design visit. If the room is narrow, we will suggest other layouts.
Can you fit a kitchen in a room with uneven walls?
Yes. Each cabinet is trimmed to the wall and levelled, to give a level line for the worktop. That is a big part of why bespoke suits period homes.
How fitting works for bespoke kitchens
Getting everything level comes first. Floors are often out of level, so adjustable feet or a plinth take up the difference, which keeps the lines straight. After that, it is fixed to the wall using fixings that suit the wall, whether that is solid brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Original hallway tiles and old floorboards are worth protecting, so they’re covered before anything comes in. Drilling into lath and plaster is done with care, so the plaster around stays sound. Any decorating around the new pieces is for your decorator.

Honest limits
Some parts of a job need another trade, like an electrician, a plumber or a Gas Safe engineer. Here is what to bear in mind:
- Making good walls and ceilings
- Wiring for appliances and lights
- Connecting a gas hob or cooker
If in doubt, you can drop us a line using the contact form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.

Flats, conversions and lettings
Many London terraces have been converted into flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. Each section is sized with that in mind, once we’ve measured the way in.
For flats on red routes or busy main roads, getting the furniture from the van to the door needs planning. Red routes are run by TfL and have strict stopping rules, so tell us about it at the measuring visit.
Materials and finishes
Hand-painted finish
A hand-painted finish can be done on site after fitting. It’s easy to touch up later.
Larder and dresser units
Larders and dressers can fill an alcove or end a run in a way standard units cannot.
What it costs
When we put a quote together, we consider:
- Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
- Spray painting or hand painting
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Where a van can park, like a permit bay or a bay suspension
How it’s painted is part of the price: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. The written quote reflects your choice, along with the size and fittings.
Before the design visit
When you contact us, these help most:
- Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- The type of home and how the room is reached
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
The quote is built from the design visit. We take full measurements, see how true the walls and floors are and work through the design together. Afterwards, we send a written quote for you to look over. To book one, message us from the contact page.
