About our loft storage in Eastcote
The space behind the knee wall usually has insulation and ventilation to think about. We design the storage so it does not block airflow or crush insulation. If you have concerns about what’s behind the eaves, ask the people who did the conversion. We look at this during the design visit in Eastcote. People normally come to us about a loft room that doubles as an office or guest room and space under the eaves going to waste, and the answer is made at our workshop from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted.
Around Eastcote, interwar houses or semi-detached and detached homes make up a good part of the housing. If yours is a 1920s or 1930s house, the bay window at the front, the space under the stairs and the box room are the usual places to gain storage. Any meters or fuse boards that need to stay reachable are designed around.
The quote names the materials: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, each used where it suits the job. The finish is stated too, whether that’s spray painting or hand painting.

Questions from Eastcote
Can you make loft storage for a home in Eastcote?
Yes. Eastcote is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Harrow and London. You can fill in our short enquiry form to arrange a design visit.
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Eastcote?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
Do I choose the paint colour?
You choose it. The paint colour is agreed with you before anything is painted.
Can you build a wardrobe under a sloping ceiling?
Yes. Bespoke wardrobes are made to the angle of the ceiling. The tall end takes hanging space, and the low end can hold shelves or drawers. It is cut to fit the ceiling and walls exactly.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. Tell us when you contact us if a Saturday suits you best.
Can you convert my loft as well?
No. We don’t carry out loft conversions. Our part is the storage once the loft is a finished room, from eaves cupboards to wardrobes under the slopes.
Loft storage for homes in Eastcote
Homes built between 1919 and 1939 make up about 55% of the housing in the neighbourhood around Eastcote, with about 24% built between 1945 and 1972, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how eaves cupboards are fixed and fitted. Within a mile of the centre of Eastcote, 4 conservation areas are recorded by Historic England. England has around 10,000 in all, and their controls are largely about how buildings look from outside. Since the zone was extended to the outer boroughs in August 2023, the whole of London has been inside the ULEZ. Vans bringing furniture to Eastcote fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. Access and parking are talked through at the measuring visit.
Near listed buildings like Cheney Farmhouse, under half a mile north-west of the centre of Eastcote, older homes may keep original joinery that eaves cupboards can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. If you live in a period home close to St Lawrence, a dormer in a converted loft can hold shelves or a small desk. If your children go to Cannon Lane Primary School or a school nearby, deep drawers suit the bulky things families collect, from scooters to swimming kit.

How it’s made
Pull-out drawers
The space behind a knee wall is deep and low, so drawers that slide out are often the answer. Everything is in view when the drawer is open. They’re designed around any access points behind the knee wall.
Plinths and scribe strips
We trim scribe strips to the exact line of the wall and ceiling. They’re one reason fitted storage looks built in. The plinth does the same job at the floor.
What we do not do
Our work is the furniture itself: designing it, making it in our workshop and fitting it. That means:
- Loft conversions, which we don’t carry out
- New sockets, lights or wiring, which are for your electrician
- Adding or replacing insulation
If in doubt, you can send us a few details through our contact form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.
What it’s made from
- Spray-painted finish
- Moisture-resistant MDF
- Hand-painted finish
- Eaves doors and drawers
- Birch plywood
- Sloped wardrobe tops
How we price loft storage
The price reflects the time and materials the job needs. That depends on:
- How square the room is
- The overall size of the piece
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- Where a van can park, like a permit bay or a bay suspension
There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. A larger piece means more material and more time. After that, the number of doors and drawers, the internal fittings and the finish all play a part.
Getting in touch
Before the design visit, it helps us to know about:
- Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- Anything in the way, such as radiators, sockets, switches, a boiler or meters
- Rough sizes, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
For a quote for loft storage in Eastcote, use our contact form. Let us know the room and the rough idea, plus any rough measurements. Next comes a design visit, followed by a quote in writing.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Loft walls are rarely straight, and floors are often out of level. Standard furniture leaves visible gaps. We scribe our storage to the slopes and walls, and set it level. Standard widths rarely add up to the length of a real wall, so fitted furniture is made to the wall’s own length. It can use the full height too.
In London, parking can affect the price. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay near your home. Let us know about parking at the design visit, so we can plan for it.

From workshop to your room
Furniture made in a workshop still has to meet the room it is going into, and that happens on fitting day. Walls in older homes are rarely flat or square, so we scribe the edges by hand to follow the wall, closing the gaps a standard unit would leave. How long the fitting itself takes depends on how much storage you want in the loft, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Semis and detached houses often have a front path or a side gate, which can make carrying in easier. Gates, paths and steps up to the door are part of the route we measure. Floors, stairs and doorways are protected on the way in.
- You get in touch with some details about the loft room, whether it is a converted room or a boarded space.
- At the design visit, we look at the slopes, the eaves and the way up.
- A written quote follows, with the fitting days agreed.
- We make the cupboards and drawers in our workshop, cut to the slope.
- We fit it in your home and leave it ready to use.
Before fitting day
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture

Getting a quote
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. Each room is different, so we quote after seeing it, when we have measured up and talked through the design. To arrange a visit, use our contact form.
