How fitting day works
There isn’t much for you to do on fitting day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and it is useful to have the room cleared beforehand. From there, we protect the floors, bring the furniture in and get on with the fitting. How long the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and your quote sets out the fitting days. In a newer home, floors, walls and door frames are often freshly finished, so we protect the route before carrying anything in. Corners and door frames are covered as well. The sections are assembled in the room.

A soft, damp cloth is the best way to keep the storage clean. Dry them afterwards, and avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents. The edges around handles are touched most.
Keep the eaves ventilated and avoid pressing things against the back of the space. Insulation pressed flat doesn’t do its job. Damp in the eaves is worth raising with the people who did the conversion.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Ready-made furniture has to come up the loft stairs in one piece or flat-packed. We make each piece in sections that fit up the stairs. That makes it possible to fit large pieces in a small loft. Ready-made units fixed to stud walls are often held by fixings that do not suit the board. Built-in pieces are designed with the right fixings from the start, and heavy pieces can stand on the floor.
