- A sloping ceiling with no room for a wardrobe
- Standard furniture that won’t go up the loft stairs
- Seasonal things cluttering the loft room
Ask about loft storage in Teddington
Is bespoke worth it?
Loft walls are rarely straight, and floors are often out of level. Ready-made pieces show the gaps. We scribe our storage to the slopes and walls, and set it level. Ready-made units stop well short of a tall period ceiling, wasting space that could hold things you rarely use. Fitted furniture can go all the way up.
Parking is part of the price picture in London. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension. Tell us about parking at the design visit, so we can plan for it.

Loft storage in Teddington
Our work is in loft rooms that are already converted, or lofts that are boarded. We don’t carry out loft conversions, and Building Regulations apply to a conversion. Once the room is finished, we can design storage to suit it. In Teddington, it all begins with a design visit. We make eaves cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted, and the usual reasons to get in touch are low eaves that nobody can use and a boarded loft that’s hard to keep organised.
Around Teddington, a large share of homes date from before 1919, and older houses have plenty of odd corners: under the stairs, in the bay, along the hall and under the eaves of a converted loft. That’s where fitted storage comes in, scribed to walls that are rarely straight.
Everything we agree at the measuring visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If you’d like to change anything, it’s easier before the furniture is made.

Questions from Teddington
Do you cover homes near Teddington station?
Yes, homes across Richmond upon Thames and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can tell us about the room on our contact form to arrange a design visit.
Do you make loft storage for homes in Teddington?
Yes, Teddington is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Richmond upon Thames and the rest of London. The first step is a design visit, where we measure and go through the design, followed by a quote.
Can I send photos ahead of the visit?
Yes, they help. Pictures of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling, give us a good idea of the space. You can send them when you message us from the contact page.
Will cupboards in the eaves stop air moving?
A good design avoids that. At the design visit we check what’s there and leave the space it needs. We do not alter insulation or vents.
What are your eaves cupboards made from?
Our loft storage is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, then painted. Both are stable, which matters in a loft room. Your quote confirms the materials and finish.
How long is the fitting for eaves storage?
How long fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Every part is built in our workshop before we arrive. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
Could you do it yourself?
Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. In a room with square walls and standard sizes, it can work well, and it is easy to buy.
Where bespoke earns its keep is in rooms that are not square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths, and standard units leave gaps.
How fitting works for loft storage
You are welcome to ask questions while we work. Most of the decisions were made during the design visit and set out in your quote, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully and leaving everything tidy. How long the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Terraced streets in London are often lined with parked cars, so details of permits, bays and any loading restrictions help. Unloading is kept short, with sections taken straight inside. Saturdays are possible by arrangement.

Getting a quote
You don’t need exact measurements to get started. Everything is measured properly when we visit, including how level the floor and ceiling are. To get started, message us from the contact page and tell us about the room. The written quote follows the visit.
Advice
Boards, parts and paint
Birch plywood
Birch plywood is made in layers, which makes it strong and stable. It goes into the carcasses, the shelves and the drawers, and its edge can be left visible or painted.
Doors and drawer fronts
What you see of the storage is mostly its fronts. We make them plain or panelled, with handles to match. They’re cut to follow the angle of the ceiling.
When you need someone else
We don’t treat damp or carry out building work, and there are a few other limits too:
- New sockets, lights or wiring, which are for your electrician
- Loft conversions, which we don’t carry out
- Adding or replacing insulation
Not sure whether your space suits loft storage? You can fill in our short enquiry form and we’ll tell you. Our process from visit to fitting.
