TV and media units for homes in Euston
Media equipment warms up as it runs, so equipment can’t simply be shut in a closed cupboard. Ventilation is planned into the design. It’s worth checking each maker’s guidance on clearances. Most enquiries start with wasted space around the screen and a cabinet that traps heat, and the answer is made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.
Getting long pieces into a flat often takes the most planning. Since most households around Euston live in purpose-built flats, the sections for TV and media units are planned at the measuring visit. The joins are placed where they will not show once the furniture is fitted.
Everything we agree at the design visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If you’d like to change anything, it is easier before the furniture is made.

Living-room carpentry in Euston: local notes
About 40% of the homes in the neighbourhood around Euston went up before 1919, and about 21% since 2000, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). It’s a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. Near the centre of Euston, Historic England’s list includes Church of St Pancras (Grade I), under half a mile east, and Holy Trinity Church (Grade I), about 0.5 miles west. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features such as panelling may need listed building consent. The council’s conservation officer is the person to ask before work starts. Purpose-built flats are more common around Euston than across Camden: about 78% of households, against about 56%, the 2021 Census shows. So the route in, from stairs to lifts, is part of the design.
If your home is one of the older houses near St Pancras New Church, picture rails and cornices give TV and media units a line to finish at. The wider area includes historic houses like Handel Hendrix House, about 1.1 miles south-west. For a period home anywhere nearby, the alcoves beside a chimney breast are the natural place for TV and media units.
Euston is part of the London Borough of Camden, about 1 mile east of St Pancras. From period terraces to newer flats in Euston, we measure the room as it is and design around it. Our work takes in places right across Camden, large and small.
Design visits and fitting in NW1W, W1T and NW1 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. Streets in the area include Euston Road, Duke's Road and Phoenix Road, and we cover homes on all of them for TV and media units. The A501 and A4200 run close to Euston, so if your home is on a main road, mention it when you get in touch. If you are just outside Euston, we also cover Somers Town (1 mile north), Fitzrovia (1 mile south-west), Bloomsbury (1 mile south-east), Kings Cross (1 mile north-east) and St Pancras (1 mile east). Across the rest of Camden, our area takes in Hampstead (3 miles north-west), West Hampstead (3 miles north-west), Greenhill (3 miles north-west), Dartmouth Park (2 miles north), Gospel Oak (2 miles north) and Haverstock (2 miles north-west).
Around Euston
Our area takes in the homes around Maria Fidelis Catholic School FCJ, The Doric Arch pub and St Aloysius Catholic Primary School and the streets around them. Euston has its own railway station: London Euston station. Nearby you’ll also find Brunswick Centre (a few minutes’ walk south-east) and Wellcome Collection (within half a mile south-west). For a walk, there is Barnsbury Wood and Primrose Hill.
Pricing TV and media units in Euston
To work out the quote, we look at:
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- How square the room is
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- The width and height of the space
There is no price list, because each job is designed for a single room. We measure up, discuss the design and send a quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To arrange a design visit, drop us a line using the contact form.
Getting in touch
To give us a picture of the room, it helps to include:
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- Where you live, with the postcode
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
We quote once we have seen the room. We measure the space, check the walls and floors and discuss what you’d like, and the written quote comes after. The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. To arrange a visit, fill in our short enquiry form.
Do you need TV and media units in Euston?
A new, larger TV often prompts it. The old stand looks too small, or the screen dominates the wall. A unit around it puts it in proportion.
If you recognise any of these, it is worth talking to us:
- A screen at the wrong height
- Leads that show from every angle
- Clutter around the TV
- Alcoves either side of the chimney breast going to waste
If you live in a flat close to London Euston station, the route in is measured as well as the room, and the sections are sized to fit it.

FAQs: TV and media units in Euston
Can you make TV and media units for a home in Euston?
Yes. We cover all of Camden and the rest of London, and Euston is part of that. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
How do you fit TV and media units in a flat in Euston?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. TV and media units are made at our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.
Do pictures help?
Yes. Pictures help us understand the room before the design visit. It is useful to show radiators, sockets and anything else on the wall.
Do I get to choose the colour?
You choose it, and we agree it with you before the furniture is finished. Spray and hand-painted finishes both use the colour you have chosen.
Will the cables be hidden?
We plan cable routes through the unit from the start. Where the cables meet the wall depends on where the sockets are.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by prior arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you contact us.
Caring for painted furniture
None of this takes much effort. Here’s what we suggest:
- Count your equipment, including routers and consoles
- Think about whether you want the screen on a bracket or on a shelf
- Plan open spaces for anything controlled by a remote
- Check where the seating will go
Use the access panels and cable routes when you add or change leads. It keeps the unit tidy.
Heavy equipment is best kept low, and no single shelf overloaded.

What else we make in Euston
From workshop to your room
There is not much for you to do on fitting day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and the room should already be cleared, as we will have talked about at the measuring visit. After that, it’s over to us: the floors are covered, the sections come in and the fitting begins. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the unit and the cable routes planned into it, and the fitting days are set out in your quote. Many blocks have entry systems, concierge desks or rules on booking the lift, so it is worth checking with the managing agent ahead of time. Floors in the flat and the common parts are protected while the furniture comes in.
- You contact us with details of the room, the TV and your equipment, and where the sockets are now.
- We visit to measure, note the sockets and agree where everything will go. Any new sockets are a job for your electrician.
- We send a written quote with the design, materials and finish.
- The unit is built in our workshop, with cable routes and vents built in.
- Fitting day: the unit goes in, is levelled and scribed, and the cable routes are left clear.
Before fitting day
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- Check the building’s rules for trades and lift bookings
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
How to get a quote
It helps to see the room before we come. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line tell us a lot about the space, particularly with rough sizes. To share them, fill in our short enquiry form, and we will arrange a design visit.
Advice
Boards, parts and paint
Birch plywood
We often use birch plywood for carcasses and drawers that stand up to daily use. Its layered edge can be painted or shown.
Shelves
Each shelf is planned for what will sit on it.
