Pricing walk-in wardrobes in Sudbury

Prices vary from room to room, for these reasons:

  • How square the room is
  • The width and height of the space
  • The finish: spray painted or hand painted
  • The internal fittings

Parking is part of the price picture in London. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay near your home. It’s useful to talk about parking at the measuring visit, so we can plan for it.

Getting in touch

When you contact us, these help most:

  • Pictures of styles you like, if you have any
  • Anything in the way, such as radiators, sockets, switches, a boiler or meters
  • How you want to use the space
  • What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on

Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Each room is different, so we quote after seeing it. For a quote, drop us a line using the contact form.

How we make walk-in wardrobes for Sudbury

A walk-in wardrobe gives your clothes a room of their own. We build them in spare rooms, box rooms and corners of bedrooms, with hanging rails, shelving and drawers planned around what you own. Everything is built in our workshop and fitted to the room, so it follows the walls and sits level. If your home has room for two wardrobes in one space and room for a growing wardrobe, that is what walk-in wardrobes are for, made from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted.

If you live in one of the interwar houses or semis around Sudbury, the third bedroom is often small, sitting over the stairs. That is where walk-in wardrobes earn their place, making a small room work as a dressing room, a guest room or both. Every wall is measured and checked, even in a house that looks square.

The quote comes in writing, so you can read it at your own pace and share it with anyone else involved. It records the design, the materials and the finish we discussed.

How fitting day works

At the end, we tidy up. Before we leave, we go over the finished piece together. How long fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. If you have a driveway, it can make unloading simpler, so let us know during the design visit. Otherwise, details of permits or nearby bays help. Floors and doorways are protected while the pieces come in.

  1. First, you let us know about the space. A line on how you will use the room helps.
  2. The design visit covers measuring and the layout inside, planned around the way you get dressed.
  3. You receive a quote in writing, setting out the design, materials and finish.
  4. Everything is made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. We fit everything in your home and check every door and drawer. Each unit is set level and scribed to the walls.

Before fitting day

  • Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
  • Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
  • Clear the area where the furniture is going

Arranging a design visit

Fitted bedroom furniture in Sudbury

About 53% of the homes in the area around Sudbury went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 12% between 1973 and 1999, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. There are 6 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Sudbury. You can check whether a particular building is listed on Historic England’s list. Controlled parking zones are run by the boroughs, so the rules in Brent are set locally. Depending on your street in Sudbury, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. It’s useful to tell us about parking at the measuring visit.

If you live in a flat close to Sudbury & Harrow Road station, check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in. For an older house near Church of St Andrew, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind walk-in wardrobes is part of the design.

Flats, blocks and rented homes

Many London terraces have been converted into flats, which often brings a shared hall and tight turns on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it, after measuring the route at the measuring visit.

We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let. The materials are the same as for any home: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.

Why bespoke in Sudbury?

Off-the-shelf wardrobe systems are quicker to get and typically cost less, and in a square room they can work. Where walls lean and floors slope, they rarely fit neatly. A bespoke walk-in wardrobe is made to the room. In an extended or opened-up house, old and new walls often meet slightly out of line, and straight-sided ready-made units make that obvious. Fitted pieces are scribed to both.

Access to the room makes a difference too. Several flights of stairs, a small lift or a narrow hall can mean smaller sections and more carrying, and that is part of the price. There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space.

Questions from Sudbury

Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Sudbury?

It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit, so the day can be planned around it.

I live near Sudbury & Harrow Road station. Is that in your area?

Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. You can get in touch through our contact form to arrange a design visit.

Can you turn a small spare room into a dressing room?

Often, yes. It depends on the room’s shape and where the door and window sit. We plan it during the design visit.

Can the fitting be on a Saturday?

Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you contact us.

Do I need permission to fit furniture in a leasehold flat?

Possibly. Leases vary, and some need consent for alterations. We cannot give advice on your lease, so it is worth checking before fitting day.

How do you get the furniture up the stairs?

Getting it in is planned at the design visit. We measure the stairs, landings, lift and doors, and the furniture is made in sections sized to get through.

The problems walk-in wardrobes solve

Others want a dressing table built in alongside the storage. A dressing table with drawers and a mirror can sit within a walk-in wardrobe, close to the clothes and shoes.

If you recognise any of these, it is worth talking to us:

  • A calmer, clearer bedroom
  • Somewhere to sit and get ready
  • The right mix of long and short hanging
  • Shelves for shoes and bags

If you live near Preston Park, walk-in wardrobes are typically planned on the walls away from the window, so the light and the view stay.
