  • A bedroom without crowded wardrobes
  • A walk-in wardrobe within the bedroom
  • Storage for clothes that have outgrown the wardrobe

Need walk-in wardrobes in Erith?

How we price walk-in wardrobes

What it costs comes down to the materials and the time involved. That depends on:

  • What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
  • Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
  • The width and height of the space
  • Parking and unloading on your street

In London, parking can affect the price. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay. It helps to talk about parking at the measuring visit, so we can plan for it.

Getting in touch

Here’s what helps us most when you contact us:

  • Photos of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling
  • The type of home and how the room is reached
  • Rough sizes: width, height and depth
  • What you’d like to store or use the space for

If you already have something in mind, tell us; if you don’t, that’s fine, and we can work it out together. The design is talked through at the visit, once we have measured, and the written quote then sets it out. To start, drop us a line using the contact form.

Walk-in wardrobes in Erith: what you get

Good light helps you see colours and find things. Wiring for new lights is a job for your electrician. We can plan the units so there’s space for the lighting you want and agree the details when we measure. Typical reasons to get in touch are the right mix of long and short hanging and setting aside a corner of a large bedroom, and the answer is built in our workshop from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.

Whether your home in Erith is a period house, an interwar semi, a post-war flat or a newer build, walk-in wardrobes are designed for the room as it is. External walls can be colder than internal ones, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps avoid condensation. Shelves, drawers and any hanging are arranged around your things.

The quote names the materials: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, each used where it suits the job. The finish is stated too, whether that is spray painting or hand painting.

From workshop to your room

You won’t need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in, and it helps to have the room cleared beforehand, as we will have talked about during the design visit. After that, it is over to us: the floors are covered, the sections come in and the fitting begins. The time the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Whatever the age of your home, the furniture is fitted to the walls you have, with scribing where they wander and packing where floors dip. Spray-painted pieces arrive finished; hand-painted ones can be finished on site.

  1. To begin, send us a few details through our contact form; a brief note on the room and what it needs to store is plenty.
  2. At the design visit we measure the room and plan hanging lengths, shelves, drawers and shoe storage with you.
  3. You receive a quote in writing for the walk-in wardrobe.
  4. We build the carcasses, shelves and drawers in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. We fit the units in your home, then put in the rails, shelves and drawers at the heights we agreed.

How to prepare

  • Let us know where the boiler and meters are
  • Tell us about parking near your home
  • Clear the area where the furniture is going

Getting a quote

A quote begins with some details from you: which room it is, rough sizes and a couple of pictures if you can take them. When you are ready, get in touch through our contact form. We’ll then arrange a design visit and follow it with a quote in writing.

Before and after fitting day

People planning walk-in wardrobes often ask about these. They help before and after fitting:

  • Leave room for air behind hanging clothes
  • Consider a mix of doors and open shelves
  • Measure how much long hanging you need
  • Plan lighting with your electrician

Store heavy things on lower shelves and spread the weight along the rails. That keeps the hanging and shelves in good shape.

If you live in a leasehold flat, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. We can’t advise on your lease.

Bespoke walk-in wardrobes or ready-made?

If you’re likely to move soon, standalone furniture you can take with you may suit better. It is worth thinking about how long you plan to stay before you decide. Standard units come with shelves and rails where the maker put them, which may not suit what you need to store. Fitted furniture is laid out inside around your things.

Every room is priced on its own, because size, layout and finish change from job to job. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.

Questions from Erith

Do you make walk-in wardrobes for homes in Erith?

Yes. Erith is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Bexley and London. You can message us from the contact page to arrange a design visit.

Will a conservation area stop me having walk-in wardrobes fitted in Erith?

Normally not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different, as works inside that affect their character may need listed building consent from the council. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.

Is a box room big enough for a walk-in wardrobe?

In many homes, yes. We can line a small room with hanging, shelving and drawers, while leaving space to stand and turn. We check the room at the design visit.

How are walk-in wardrobes priced?

The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. The size of the room, the layout and the finish all make a difference. For a design visit, send us a few details through our contact form.

Do I need doors on a walk-in wardrobe?

Either works. Doors keep dust off and give a calm, finished look, while open rails and shelves let you see everything. Many people choose a mix.

How is the furniture painted?

There are two options: a spray finish from the workshop, which is smooth and even, or hand painting, which can be done in your home. The finish is agreed in your quote.

Do you need walk-in wardrobes in Erith?

The most common reason is simply running out of wardrobe space. Rails are crammed, shelves overflow and shoes end up under the bed. A dressing room spreads it all out so you can see it.

Requests we hear often include:

  • A use for a small spare room
  • Setting aside a corner of a large bedroom
  • Somewhere for shoes to live
  • The right mix of long and short hanging

If your home is one of the older houses near Christ Church, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where walk-in wardrobes go.
