Walk-in wardrobes in South Ealing, Ealing

In South Ealing, we design walk-in wardrobes around the room you actually have. We design your walk-in wardrobe at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

  • Long and double hanging planned around your clothes
  • Setting aside a corner of a large bedroom
  • More space for clothes and shoes

Looking after your furniture

Painted fitted furniture is easy to look after with a little care. A few things help it stay looking good:

  • Think about whether you want doors
  • Treat new paintwork gently at first
  • Leave room for air behind hanging clothes
  • Talk to your electrician early about lighting

We adjust doors and drawers as part of the fitting. Houses move a little with the seasons, and hinges can be adjusted to keep the gaps even.

Before the design visit, sort through your clothes. We plan the layout around your clothes, so it’s worth having a sort-out first.

Walk-in wardrobes for homes in South Ealing

Good light helps you see colours and find things, and any new lights or wiring are for your electrician. We plan the units with your electrician’s work in mind and agree the details when we measure. Typical reasons to get in touch are room for two wardrobes in one space and a walk-in wardrobe in a box room; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.

A large share of the homes around South Ealing were built before 1919, and in a Victorian or Edwardian bedroom, the chimney breast and its alcoves often shape the room. Fitted storage can sit in the alcoves or span the wall, chimney breast and all. Because older floors slope and walls bow, everything is scribed and levelled on site.

Everything we agree at the measuring visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If something isn’t quite right, tell us before anything is made.

Boards, parts and paint

Spray-painted finish

You choose the colour, and we apply it in the workshop.

Shelves

We plan shelving for knitwear, bags and things you use less often. Each shelf is sized for its load.

Flats, blocks and rented homes

Blocks of flats often have their own rules on lift bookings, entry systems and times for trades. Tell us about them during the design visit.

Many London terraces have been converted into flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it, after measuring the route during the design visit.

Questions we’re often asked

Can you fit furniture in a home close to Brentford station?

Yes. We cover all of Ealing and the rest of London. You can message us from the contact page to arrange a design visit.

Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in South Ealing?

It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. It helps to let us know about parking at the design visit.

Do walk-in wardrobes need ventilation?

Yes, it helps keep clothes fresh and damp away. We design the units to let air move and walls should be dry before we fit.

Do you do the electrics?

No. Any new wiring, sockets or lights need an electrician. We plan the furniture around where they’ll go.

How much does a walk-in wardrobe cost?

Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. Size, fittings and finish all affect the price. For a design visit, message us from the contact page.

Do I get to choose the colour?

You do. We agree the colour with you, and it is set out in the quote.

DIY, flat-pack or bespoke

Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. In a room with square walls and standard sizes, it can work well, and it’s quick to buy.

Cost matters, and it’s fair to say so: off-the-shelf furniture normally costs less up front. Bespoke earns its place where the room is tricky, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.

Bedroom storage in South Ealing

In the area around South Ealing, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 66%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 15%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how walk-in wardrobes are fixed and fitted. Near the centre of South Ealing, Historic England’s list includes Church of St Mary (Grade II*), under half a mile north, and Westfield House (Grade II), less than half a mile north. Listing covers the inside of a building as well as the outside, so works that affect a listed home’s character, like removing original joinery, may need listed building consent. The council’s conservation officer is the person to ask before work starts. Terraced houses are home to about 33% of households in the area around South Ealing, according to Census 2021. London terraces typically have a small back bedroom and alcoves in the main bedroom, both good spaces for fitted storage.

Close to Lammas Park? Walk-in wardrobes are typically planned on the walls away from the window, so the light and the view stay. If your children go to Grange Primary School or a school nearby, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller. Gunnersbury Park, about 0.7 miles east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice.

What happens on fitting day

If anything comes up on the day, just ask. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so the day itself is about careful fitting. How long fitting takes depends on the size of the room and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Terraced streets in London are often lined with parked cars, so details of permits, bays and any loading restrictions help. Unloading is kept short, with sections taken straight inside. Saturday fitting can be arranged.

  1. You get in touch and let us know about the room and what you want to store. It could be a spare room, a box room or part of a bedroom.
  2. We come to measure the room and go through how the space should work.
  3. We send a quote that sets out the layout, materials and finish, for you to read through.
  4. We build the carcasses, drawers and shelves in our workshop, using moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. The units are fitted in your home and trimmed to follow the walls. A hand-painted finish, if you chose one, is done on site.

Preparing the room

  • Keep pets out of the room and the hallway
  • Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions on your street

Ask for a quote

To make a start, tell us about the room on our contact form and tell us a little about the room and what you want the furniture to do. We then arrange a design visit to measure and discuss the design, and send you a written quote afterwards.
