Little Venice Fitted Wardrobes
In Little Venice, we design fitted wardrobes around the room you actually have. We design your fitted wardrobe at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.
- Not enough hanging space
- No space in front for doors to swing
- An awkward slope in a loft bedroom

Fitted wardrobes in Little Venice: what you get
Rail heights are set for the clothes they hold. Long coats and dresses need one tall section, while two rails, one over the other, suit shirts and jackets. We plan for the people using it too. If you are living with damp or musty clothes against an external wall and clothes with nowhere proper to go, that is what fitted wardrobes are for, made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.
A large share of the homes around Little Venice were built before 1919, and in a Victorian or Edwardian bedroom, the chimney breast and its alcoves often shape the room. Fitted furniture can fill the alcoves, wrap round the chimney breast or run across a whole wall. Because older floors slope and walls bow, everything is scribed and levelled on site.
A written quote follows the design visit. It describes the design we discussed, the materials and the finish, so it is clear what’s included.

How fitting day works
Once the main sections are fixed in place, any doors go on and any drawers or lids are fitted. We adjust each one so the gaps line up and it closes cleanly, then checked again. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the wardrobes and the number of doors, and your quote sets out the fitting days. In houses converted into flats, the route in may include a shared hall and stairs, so neighbours may appreciate a note before fitting day. Each section is sized for the tightest door or turn. Saturdays can be arranged.

There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit. For a quote, send us a few details through our contact form.
Advice
Pricing fitted wardrobes in Little Venice
Not every room costs the same, and it comes down to:
- The internal fittings
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- How many doors and drawers there are
- How big the furniture is
Tricky rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. That’s reflected in the quote.
Helping us understand the room
What helps most when you first contact us:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- How you want to use the space
Pictures help us understand the room before we visit. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line give us a good feel for the space, especially with rough measurements. To share them, tell us about the room on our contact form, and we will arrange a design visit.
Is it time for fitted wardrobes?
After a loft conversion, the new bedroom typically needs storage that suits the slopes. Storage built into the slope uses space that would otherwise go to waste.
Requests we hear often include:
- A tight bedroom where doors get in the way
- A bedroom that never feels tidy
- A sloping ceiling that is hard to use
- Gaps above and around standalone wardrobes
If your children go to Ark Paddington Green Primary Academy or a school nearby, a mix of drawers and shelves copes with school uniform as well as everything else.
Before you hire any carpenter
- A quote in writing that sets out the job
- Have they measured the stairs, lift and doorways?
- How they deal with uneven walls and floors
- Whether the finish is set out in the quote
Fitted bedroom furniture in Little Venice
In the streets around Little Venice, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 47%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 16%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. It is a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. There are 192 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Little Venice. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and fitted wardrobes can be designed to work around them. TfL’s red routes have strict stopping rules. Where a home in Little Venice is on or beside a main road, it helps to mention that at the measuring visit. That way we can plan where to load and unload.
Living in a block of flats near London Paddington station? Then check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in. If you live near Kensington Gardens, keeping fitted wardrobes off the window wall keeps the room bright.

Honest limits
We make and fit furniture, and we do not do electrics, plumbing, gas, plastering or structural work. There are a few other points to bear in mind:
- Curing damp, which needs the right specialist
- Taking out a chimney breast to make space
- Redecorating around the wardrobes

What it is made from
Plinths and scribe strips
Scribe strips are trimmed on site to follow the walls and ceiling. It’s how a straight carcass meets a wall that isn’t straight.
Spray-painted finish
Because the doors are sprayed before fitting, they arrive already finished. Give the paint time to cure fully.
FAQs: fitted wardrobes in Little Venice
Does a conservation area in or near Little Venice affect fitted furniture?
Usually not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, works inside that affect its character can require listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Can you make fitted wardrobes for a home in Little Venice?
Yes, we work across Westminster, Little Venice included, and across the rest of London. You can message us from the contact page to arrange a design visit.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.
How do I get a quote?
It’s easiest to fill in our short enquiry form. After that, we arrange a design visit and follow it with a written quote.
What finishes do you offer?
There are two choices: spray painting, done in the workshop for a smooth, even finish, or hand painting, which can be done on site. The finish is agreed in your quote.
Is it possible to build wardrobes into a loft room with a slope?
Yes. Sloping ceilings are common in loft conversions. The slope is measured during the design visit and the wardrobe scribed to it on site.
