Questions we are often asked

Is Tottenham Green in the area you cover for fitted wardrobes?

Yes, we work across Haringey, Tottenham Green included, and across the rest of London. To get started, you can tell us about the room on our contact form with some details.

Do you cover homes near Seven Sisters station?

Yes, homes across Haringey and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can get in touch through our contact form with a few details about the room.

What if my bedroom floor isn’t level?

We allow for it from the start. The wardrobe is set level with a plinth or adjustable feet and scribed to the walls.

Who chooses the colour?

You do. We agree the colour with you.

Can you fit wardrobes in a top-floor flat?

We plan the sections around the route into your flat, then assembled in the bedroom. Let us know if your block has lift or concierge booking rules.

Do you move sockets or add lighting?

No. Sockets, switches and lighting are for your electrician. We’ll design around them.

About our fitted wardrobes in Tottenham Green

A fitted wardrobe is built into the room itself, running floor to ceiling and wall to wall where the space allows. That leaves no gap above to gather dust and no wasted space at the sides. If you’re planning fitted wardrobes in Tottenham Green, we start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need. Typical reasons to get in touch are mismatched bedroom furniture and a sloping ceiling that’s hard to use; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.

In streets where many homes were built before 1919, as they were around Tottenham Green, many bedrooms sit against solid brick external walls. Cold external walls can lead to condensation, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture is part of the design. Small back bedrooms and box rooms are common too, and they suit fitted wardrobes and other fitted storage well.

Materials are named in the quote: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, each used where it suits the job. The finish is stated too, whether that is spray painting or hand painting.

Fitted bedroom furniture in Tottenham Green

In the area around Tottenham Green, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 47%) and the years since 2000 (about 19%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. That matters for fitted wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. There are 20 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Tottenham Green. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and the furniture can be designed around them rather than over them. London’s red routes are run by TfL, and stopping on them is tightly controlled. Where a home in Tottenham Green is on or beside a main road, it helps to mention that during the design visit. That way we can plan where to load and unload.

For families living near Earlsmead Primary School, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller. If you live in a flat close to Seven Sisters station, the route in is measured as well as the room, and the sections are sized to fit it. If you live near Chestnuts Park, morning light matters, so tall pieces go where they will not shade the window.

What it costs

When we put a quote together, we consider:

  • How many doors and drawers there are
  • How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
  • How square the room is
  • The finish: spray painted or hand painted

The inside of the furniture affects the price as well: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. We’ll talk through what you need inside at the measuring visit, then set it out in the quote.

What we need to know

Some details help us understand the job before we visit. It’s useful to include:

  • Any ideas or images you have saved
  • Anything in the way, such as radiators, sockets, switches, a boiler or meters
  • Your postcode and the borough
  • Rough measurements: width, height and depth

Rough sizes are fine at the start. Everything is measured properly when we visit. To get started, fill in our short enquiry form. You receive a quote in writing after the visit.

Flats, leases and landlords

For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants. A letting agent can arrange this on a landlord’s behalf, and the written quote can go to whoever needs it.

A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it.

What it’s made from

Plinths and scribe strips

Scribe strips are trimmed on site to follow the walls and ceiling. It’s how a straight carcass meets a wall that isn’t straight.

Hanging rails

We place rails at the heights your clothes need: a high rail for long items and double rails for shorter ones.

Bespoke fitted wardrobes or ready-made?

Standalone wardrobes cost less to buy and can come with you when you move. If you’re renting or moving soon, that may matter most. Built-in wardrobes become part of the house. Standard furniture is drawn for modern rooms, so its proportions can look odd in a tall period room, while fitted furniture can follow the room’s own lines.

Every room is priced on its own, because the size, the layout and the finish all vary. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.

How fitting works for fitted wardrobes

On the morning of the fitting, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. Next, we carry in the sections built in our workshop, a piece at a time. How long fitting takes depends on the size of the wardrobes and the number of doors, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. In houses converted into flats, the route in may include a shared hall and stairs, so neighbours may appreciate a note before fitting day. Each section is sized for the tightest door or turn. Saturdays can be arranged.

  1. You send us some details about the room and the storage you need, and we arrange a design visit.
  2. At the design visit, we measure up and plan the doors and the inside with you. We also look at the way in, in case the sections need to go up narrow stairs.
  3. Your quote follows, with the layout, materials and finish set out, so you can see what’s included.
  4. The wardrobes are made at our workshop.
  5. The wardrobes are fitted in your home, set level and scribed to the walls and ceiling. A hand-painted finish, if you chose one, is done on site.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
  • Book any lift and let the concierge or building manager know
  • Make sure pets are kept safely away
