Fitted wardrobes for your home in Wembley
How we make fitted wardrobes for Wembley
Hanging heights are planned around your clothes, not a catalogue. Long coats and dresses need one tall section, while two rails, one over the other, suit shirts and jackets. We plan for the people using it too. Typical reasons to get in touch are gaps above and around standalone wardrobes and not enough hanging space, and the answer is built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.
Hinged doors need space to open, which a compact bedroom may not have, so the layout and the kind of door are worked out together. Many homes around Wembley were built since 2000, and bedrooms in newer homes are often compact. We measure the space in front as well as the wall.
Everything we agree at the design visit goes into the written quote: the layout, what goes inside, the materials used and the finish. If something isn’t quite right, tell us before anything is made.

Where other trades come in
Electrics, plumbing, gas, plastering and structural work aren’t part of what we do. Please bear these in mind too:
- Painting walls and ceilings, or repairing plaster
- The loft conversion itself, which is building work under Building Regulations
- Fixing the cause of condensation or damp
If you’re not sure what’s possible in your room, you can send us a few details through our contact form and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.

Flats, blocks and rented homes
For flats on red routes or busy main roads, getting the furniture from the van to the door needs planning. TfL runs the red routes, and the stopping rules are strict, so tell us about it at the design visit.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, and that is best sorted before fitting day. We can’t advise on your lease, so check it yourself or ask your managing agent.
Why people ask for fitted wardrobes in Wembley
A finished loft conversion often leaves a new bedroom with sloping walls and no storage. Wardrobes built under the slope use space that would otherwise sit empty, keeping the room clear.
Typical reasons people contact us include:
- An tricky slope in a loft bedroom
- Standard wardrobes that do not fill the wall
- Condensation behind a wardrobe on an outside wall
- Clothes with nowhere proper to go
If your children go to Wembley Primary School or a school nearby, fitted wardrobes in a child’s room can be planned so the inside layout changes as they grow.
What to check before you book
- Whether the finish is set out in the quote
- How the doors are hung and adjusted
- How they deal with uneven walls and floors
- Whether the route into your home has been checked
How fitting works for fitted wardrobes
Furniture made in a workshop still has to meet the room it’s going into, and that happens on fitting day. Few walls in older London homes are truly flat or square, so each edge that meets a wall is scribed to follow it, closing the gaps a standard unit would leave. How long the fitting itself takes depends on how many wardrobes there are and how the room is shaped, and the fitting days are set out in your quote. Parking at newer developments can be restricted, with private bays or loading areas, so it’s useful to let us know at the measuring visit. On fitting day, the sections are carried in, assembled and fixed. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
- You contact us about fitted wardrobes.
- At the design visit we measure the room and agree the layout and doors.
- We send a quote in writing.
- We build the wardrobes in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- The wardrobes are fitted and scribed, with any hand painting done in the room.
- Before we leave, we go through the doors and drawers with you. New paint takes time to cure, so treat it gently at first.
Preparing the room
- Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall

Starting with a design visit
We quote once we have seen the room. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and discuss the design with you, and the written quote comes after. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. To book a design visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

Bedroom storage in Wembley
Homes built since 2000 make up about 53% of the housing in the neighbourhood around Wembley, with about 30% built between 1919 and 1939, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Wembley include Wembley Hill Lodge (Grade II), under half a mile south-east. Where a home is listed, listed building consent can be needed for inside works that affect its character, such as fixing into original panelling. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. About 53% of homes in the area around Wembley were built since 2000, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Bedrooms in homes built since 2000 tend to be compact, with stud walls, so fitted furniture is fixed to suit the board.
Close to Preston Park? Fitted wardrobes are usually planned on the walls away from the window, so the light and the view stay. For an older house near St Augustine, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind fitted wardrobes is part of the design.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Large flat-pack wardrobes can be hard to build in a small bedroom. We make fitted wardrobes in sections sized to the route into your home, then put together in the room. Off-the-shelf depths can crowd a compact new-build room, whereas fitted pieces can be as shallow as the space needs. It still uses the full height.
How it is painted is part of the price: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. The written quote reflects your choice, along with the size and fittings.

Questions we are often asked
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Wembley?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It helps to tell us about parking during the design visit, and we’ll plan around it.
Can you fit furniture in a home close to North Wembley station?
Yes, homes across Brent and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can fill in our short enquiry form with a few details about the room, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.
What finishes do you offer?
There are two choices: spray painting, done in the workshop for a smooth, even finish, or hand painting, which can be done on site. Your quote sets out which you’ve chosen.
Can you build wardrobes around a bed?
Yes. Storage around a bed makes good use of a wall that is often wasted and can include bedside shelves. The bed size and room are measured when we visit.
How do I get started?
The first step is to tell us about the room on our contact form with a few details about the room. We then arrange a design visit, measure up and send a written quote.
How is the inside of the wardrobe planned?
We plan it with you during the design visit, starting from the clothes you have. Adjustable shelves keep some flexibility for later.
