Fitted Wardrobes in Alperton
For homes in Alperton, we make fitted wardrobes from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. The finish is spray painted or hand painted, in a colour agreed with you.
- Several odd pieces where one run of storage would do
- A sloping ceiling that is hard to use
- Clothes piled on chairs and in spare rooms

Fitted wardrobes in Alperton
Rail heights are set for the clothes they hold. A tall section suits long coats and dresses, while shirts, jackets and folded trousers suit two rails, one above the other. We also think about who uses it. We make fitted wardrobes from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed, and the things people most often want solved are condensation behind a wardrobe on an outside wall and a bedroom that never feels tidy.
Around Alperton, with interwar houses or semis making up much of the housing, the third bedroom is often small, sitting over the stairs. That is where fitted wardrobes earn their place, making a small room work as a dressing room, a guest room or both. Nothing is assumed: the room is measured wall by wall.
The quote comes in writing, so there’s time to read it properly. It records the design, the materials and the finish we discussed.

Fitted bedroom furniture in Alperton
In the neighbourhood around Alperton, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 57%) and the years since 2000 (about 25%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. That matters for fitted wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. Alperton is partly covered by a conservation area, going by Historic England’s data. Conservation area controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. The council can confirm if you are not sure. A quarter or more of the homes in the streets around Alperton (about 25%) were built since 2000, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. Newer homes often have compact bedrooms with plasterboard stud walls, so fitted pieces use the full height and are fixed into the studs.
If you live in a period home close to St James Church Alperton, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind fitted wardrobes is part of the design. If you live near St. Raphael's Edible Garden, fitted wardrobes are normally planned on the walls away from the window, so the light and the view stay. If your children go to Alperton Community School or a school nearby, the inside of fitted wardrobes can be laid out with adjustable shelves, so the space keeps up as children grow.

Questions we are often asked
Can you make fitted wardrobes for a home in Alperton?
Yes, we work across Brent, Alperton included, and across the rest of London. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with some details.
I live near Wembley Central station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. To get started, you can tell us about the room on our contact form with some details about the room.
How is the inside of the wardrobe planned?
It’s worked out with you when we measure, starting from the clothes you have. Some shelves can be adjustable so the layout can change.
Can a fitted wardrobe go against a cold wall?
Yes, with ventilation planned in. An outside wall is often colder than an inside one, so we plan airflow behind and within it.
Do pictures help?
Yes, they help. A few pictures of the room, from floor to ceiling, tell us a lot. To send them, fill in our short enquiry form.
Can you add sockets inside the units?
No. Electrical work is not something we do; it is a job for your electrician. We can allow for cable routes in the design, and any new sockets are best done before fitting day.
Fitting day, step by step
The last stage of the day is the finish. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; hand painting, if that is what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. The finish is always the one agreed in your quote. If you have a driveway, it can make unloading simpler, so let us know at the measuring visit. Otherwise, a visitor permit or a nearby bay helps. Floors and doorways are protected while the pieces come in.
- You let us know about the room, including any slopes, alcoves or windows. A rough sketch of the room helps if you have one.
- We come to measure and talk through hanging heights, doors and drawers.
- We put the design, materials and finish into a written quote. It lists what’s inside each wardrobe as well as the doors.
- Once you are happy, the wardrobes are built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We bring them to your home and fit them in place. We adjust the doors so they hang and close evenly.
Getting ready for fitting day
- Tell us about parking near your home
- Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
- Empty the space we will be working in
Getting a quote
To get a quote, get in touch through our contact form and tell us a little about the room and roughly what you’d like. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and send you a quote in writing afterwards.
Advice
Honest limits
We’d rather be clear about where our work stops:
- Converting a loft (we build storage in lofts that are already converted)
- Taking out a chimney breast to make space
- Curing damp, which needs the right specialist
If you’re not sure what’s possible in your room, you can message us from the contact page and we will give you a straight answer. How a job runs, step by step.
What goes into it
- Hinged or sliding doors
- Hand-painted finish
- Hanging rails, shelves and drawers
- Spray-painted finish
- Birch plywood
- Moisture-resistant MDF
How it’s made
Moisture-resistant MDF
Moisture-resistant MDF is stable and takes paint well, which makes it ideal for wardrobe doors and visible panels. It’s a sensible choice against a colder external wall.
Hanging rails
Rails are set at heights that suit your clothes: a high rail for long items and double rails for shorter ones.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let, as it makes good use of an tricky room. It is made from the same moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood as any of our work.
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants. An agent can arrange access for you, and the written quote can go to whoever needs it.
What affects the price in Alperton
The price reflects the time and materials the job needs. The main factors are:
- Where a van can park, like a permit bay or a bay suspension
- The number of doors and drawers
- How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
- The width and height of the space
Tricky rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. That’s reflected in the quote.
Before the design visit
To help us picture the room, please include:
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- Examples of the look you’re after
- Approximate measurements of the space
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
The design visit is where every quote starts. We measure the room properly, check how the walls and floors run and go through the design with you. A written quote follows the visit, so you can take your time with it. To book one, drop us a line using the contact form.
