Loft storage for your home in Crook Log
Loft storage for homes in Crook Log
Loft rooms are often bedrooms, so storage for clothes matters. A wardrobe under the slope, knee-wall drawers and dormer shelves make a complete set. Planned together, they make the room feel ordered. We design them around what you need to store in Crook Log. People typically come to us about a loft room that still feels unfinished and nowhere to store bags and boxes; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.
Coats, shoes, bags and the vacuum cleaner all need somewhere to go in a family house. With interwar houses, semis and detached homes a large part of the housing around Crook Log, well-planned storage by the door or under the stairs can take a lot of it. Anything that needs to stay reachable, like meters or a fuse board, is designed around.
The quote comes in writing, so you can read it at your own pace and talk it over at home. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

What we do not do
Not everything around loft storage is carpentry, from an electrician to a plumber or a Gas Safe engineer. Here’s what to know:
- Anything that needs Building Regulations sign-off
- Loft conversions, which we don’t carry out
- New sockets, lights or wiring, which are for your electrician

How fitting works for loft storage
You’re welcome to ask questions while we work. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so the day itself is about careful fitting. How long fitting takes depends on how much storage you want in the loft, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. In a 1930s house with a converted loft, the stairs to the loft room are often steeper than the main flight, so pieces for a loft room are sized for the narrowest point. Elsewhere in the house, the route is usually more generous. The pieces are joined and fixed once in place.
- You contact us about storage in your converted loft.
- We visit to measure the loft and the way up, including the top flight and any tight turn. Let us know about parking too, as a van often needs a permit or a paid bay.
- A written quote follows, covering the design, materials and finish.
- We build the storage in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, sized to get up to the loft.
- We carry the sections up, join them in the room and scribe them to fit. The finish is sprayed in the workshop or hand-painted in the loft.
Getting ready for fitting day
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
- Keep pets in another room while we work
- Get any new sockets or wiring done by your electrician before fitting day
Arranging a design visit
Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit, once the room is measured and the design talked through. To arrange a visit, get in touch through our contact form.
Related advice
Is bespoke worth it?
Loft walls are rarely straight, and floors are often out of level. Ready-made pieces show the gaps. Our storage is scribed to the room and set level, so the lines look right. Standard widths rarely add up to the length of a real wall, which fitted furniture avoids. It can also go up to the ceiling rather than stopping short.
How it is painted is part of the price: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. The written quote reflects your choice, along with the size and fittings.

FAQs: loft storage in Crook Log
Do you make loft storage for homes in Crook Log?
Yes, Crook Log is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Bexley and the rest of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Crook Log?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
Does eaves storage affect the insulation?
Not if it’s planned with care. We design eaves storage so it does not block ventilation or squash insulation. If you have concerns about what’s already behind the eaves, it’s worth asking whoever converted the loft.
Do I need to be in when you fit?
Someone needs to let us in. It also helps to have someone around at the end, so we can go over the finished furniture together.
Do I choose the paint colour?
You choose it. Whichever finish you pick, it is in the colour you’ve chosen.
How is the furniture painted?
There are two choices: spray painting, done in the workshop for a smooth, even finish, or hand painting, which can be done on site. The finish is agreed in your quote.

Practical tips
The finish lasts best with a little care. These practical tips help:
- Check the route up to the loft
- Count the clothes you’ll need to hang
- Clear the knee-wall spaces before the design visit if you can
- Tell us about parking at the design visit
We open each door and run each drawer with you before we go. Any access to the eaves is checked so it still opens. You’ll know it all works as it should.
Every so often, look at the handles and hinges. A loose screw is easy to tighten before it works loose. If something stops working smoothly, use our contact form and describe it.
Do you need loft storage in Crook Log?
A boarded loft can be made far more useful with shelving. Storage in a boarded loft keeps everything organised. It’s ideal for things you need now and then.
Common reasons to get in touch include:
- A boarded loft that’s hard to keep organised
- Clothes with nowhere to go in a loft bedroom
- Low eaves that nobody can use
- Furniture that cannot get up to the loft
Close to Danson Park? Living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and eaves cupboards can give those things a place.
