Pricing loft storage in Northwick Park
Each piece is designed for one room, so each price is too. What affects it comes down to:
- Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
- Parking and unloading on your street
- The overall size of the piece
- Tricky walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors
The finish affects the cost: spray painting happens in the workshop, and hand painting can be done in your home. Your choice, along with the size and the fittings, is reflected in the written quote.
Helping us understand the room
Here’s what helps us most when you get in touch:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- What the furniture needs to hold
- Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
- Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
The design visit is where every quote starts. We measure the room properly, check how the walls and floors run and discuss the design with you. A written quote follows the visit for you to look over. To arrange the visit, fill in our short enquiry form.
How we make loft storage for Northwick Park
Behind the short walls at the edge of a loft room, there is often space going to waste. Cupboards and drawers set into the knee wall make that space useful. Pull-out drawers mean you do not have to crawl in. We measure and plan for the space you have in Northwick Park. People normally come to us about low eaves that nobody can use and a dormer that isn’t being used, and the answer is made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.
A large number of homes around Northwick Park date from 2000 onwards, and newer homes often have little built-in storage. Halls, landings and the space beneath the stairs are where fitted storage can help. Plasterboard stud walls are common, so fixings go into the studs or use fixings made for the board.
If the job needs another trade, such as an electrician or a plumber, we will tell you. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

Flats, blocks and rented homes
A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, which often brings a shared hall and tight turns on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it.
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let, often to make the most of a small or tricky room. The materials are the same as for any home: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.

FAQs: loft storage in Northwick Park
I live near Kenton station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with a few details about the room.
My home in Northwick Park is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.
What if the wall is cold or damp?
It needs a little planning: leaving ventilation behind and inside helps stop condensation. Damp treatment is not something we do, so any damp needs sorting first.
Which materials go into your loft storage?
We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. Birch plywood gives strength to the carcasses and drawers, while the doors and panels are MDF, which paints well. Everything is finished by spray painting or hand painting.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.
What happens at the measuring visit?
It’s a chance to measure properly and talk through what you’d like. We look at the walls, floors and anything the furniture has to work around, and the written quote comes afterwards.
Making use of tricky spaces in Northwick Park
About 39% of the homes in the neighbourhood around Northwick Park went up since 2000, and about 35% between 1919 and 1939, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Northwick Park include Parish Church of St Mary (Grade I), about 0.5 miles west, and The Old Schools (Grade I), about 0.6 miles west. Where a home is listed, listed building consent can be needed for inside works that affect its character, such as fixing into original panelling. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. Controlled parking zones are run by the boroughs, so the rules in Brent are set locally. If parking near you is controlled, a visitor permit or a bay suspension may be needed, and the council arranges suspensions, often with notice. Let us know about parking at the design visit.
For an older house near Saint Cuthberts Church, sloping ceilings in a loft room suit wardrobes cut to the angle. For families living near Harrow High School, a place for each person’s coat and shoes stops the hallway filling up.

Why people ask for loft storage in Northwick Park
Some people have a boarded loft and want proper shelving. Shelves and cupboards keep things off the floor and easy to find. It suits seasonal things and boxes.
If you recognise any of these, it’s worth talking to us:
- Seasonal things cluttering the loft room
- A loft room that doubles as an office or guest room
- A dormer that is not being used
- Wasted space behind the knee walls
If you live near Preston Park, eaves cupboards can be designed to hold outdoor kit, from walking boots to picnic things.

Fitting day, step by step
When we arrive on fitting day, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. The sections made in our workshop come in next, one at a time. How long fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Walls in newer homes are often plasterboard on studs, so on fitting day heavy pieces go into the studs or stand on the floor. Floors are covered while we work.
- You contact us about storage in your converted loft.
- At the design visit we plan the storage and measure the stairs, landings and loft doorway.
- A quote in writing follows, covering the design, materials and finish.
- We build the storage in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, sized to get up to the loft.
- We carry the sections up, join them in the room and scribe them to fit.
Before fitting day
- Take anything hanging off the wall we are fitting to
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager

Looking after your furniture
Getting the most from loft storage starts with the planning and carries on after fitting day. These are worth keeping in mind:
- Consider drawers for the deep, low spaces
- Plan where the tall end of a wardrobe can go
- Think about matching the woodwork or the walls
- Let us know about parking near your home
When you load the drawers and cupboards, put heavy things low. It helps the runners and keeps the storage working well. We size the shelves for what you said you’d keep there.
Keep sharp or very heavy items away from the painted fronts. Put tools in a case so they do not knock the paint. Minor chips can be touched up with the matching colour.
