Bespoke kitchens in Northwick Park, Brent
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. Our work on bespoke kitchens in Northwick Park starts with a design visit, and everything is made in our workshop.
- Making the most of a galley kitchen
- Spaces sized for your oven and fridge
- Room for everything in the kitchen

Bespoke kitchens in Northwick Park: what you get
Moisture-resistant MDF suits kitchens well, because it stays stable and takes paint beautifully. Birch plywood is strong and holds screws well. Cabinets are spray painted in the workshop or hand painted, in the colours you choose. We make kitchens from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the usual reasons to get in touch are cabinets built around the appliances you choose and a central island in a larger kitchen.
A large number of homes around Northwick Park date from 2000 onwards, and newer homes normally have open-plan kitchens. A bespoke kitchen can be planned to sit well in that space, with an island where there’s room. Stud walls need wall cabinets fixed into the studs or with suitable fixings.
The quote names the materials: moisture-resistant MDF, birch plywood or both, depending on the design. The finish is stated too, whether that’s spray painting or hand painting.

Kitchens in Northwick Park: local notes
About 39% of the homes in the area around Northwick Park went up since 2000, and about 35% between 1919 and 1939, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. The National Heritage List records 14 entries within half a mile of the centre of Northwick Park. Being near listed buildings doesn’t make a home listed, and you can check any address on Historic England’s list. The Ultra Low Emission Zone has covered all of London since it reached the outer boroughs on 29 August 2023. It applies to the vans that deliver and fit furniture in Northwick Park, as it does anywhere else in London. We go through parking and access during the design visit.
For a family home near Harrow High School, a tall cupboard by the door can take school bags and coats as part of the kitchen. Close to Preston Park? A cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen.

Why people ask for bespoke kitchens in Northwick Park
Often the call comes after building work has opened up the space. A new room needs a kitchen planned for its shape and light. The building work itself is for your builder.
We are often asked to help with:
- A central island in a larger kitchen
- Tall larder storage
- A kitchen finished in your colours
- Extra cupboard space
For an older house near Saint Cuthberts Church, a narrow back addition or an old chimney breast may shape the kitchen layout.
What to check before you book
- Will the quote be in writing?
- How the doors are hung and adjusted
- Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
- Whether the quote says what the furniture is made from
Is bespoke worth it?
Ready-made cabinets often have chipboard carcasses. Ours are made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, then spray or hand painted, finished to suit the room. In a compact new-build room, standard sizes rarely fit the walls exactly, and fitted furniture uses that space. It can also be planned around boxed-in pipes and risers.
There is no price list, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, go through the design and then quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To arrange a design visit, message us from the contact page.
Why us?
- Fitted tight to walls that aren’t straight
- Built in our workshop and fitted in your home
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Made for your room, not a standard size

Flats, conversions and lettings
Many London terraces have been converted into flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. Each section is sized with that in mind.
Landlords furnishing a let use fitted furniture too, often to make the most of a small or tricky room. It’s made from the same moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood as any of our work, with a spray or hand-painted finish.
Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Northwick Park
I live in a flat in Northwick Park. How will the furniture get up the stairs?
At the design visit, we measure the way in as well as the room. Kitchens are built in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.
Does a conservation area in or near Northwick Park affect fitted furniture?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, changes inside that alter its character can require listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Do I get to choose the colour?
The choice is yours, and it is agreed with you before painting. Whichever finish you pick, it is in the colour you have chosen.
Which worktops and appliances can I have?
The worktop, sink and appliances are the ones you choose, and we design the cabinets around them. The materials and finish are agreed in your quote.
Will you connect the sink and appliances?
No. We make and fit the kitchen cabinets. Your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics, and we design around where their work goes.
Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?
External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so we allow for ventilation behind and inside the furniture. Any damp needs sorting by the right specialist before fitting.
Practical tips
Getting the most from bespoke kitchens starts with the planning and carries on after fitting day. Here are some things worth bearing in mind:
- Mention any parking or lift rules
- Treat new paintwork gently at first
- Think about how the cabinets will get in
- Check there’s room around an island before planning one
The appliances you’ve chosen come with their own care instructions, and the worktop you chose will have its own care advice too.
Have any damp sorted before the kitchen goes in. Cabinets against a damp wall can trap moisture, particularly on external walls.
How fitting works for bespoke kitchens
You won’t need to do much on the day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and the room should already be cleared. After that, it’s over to us: the floors are covered, the sections come in and the fitting begins. How long fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Newer homes often have finished floors, painted walls and new doors that mark easily, so everything on the way in is covered before the sections arrive. Door frames and corners get covers too. Once inside, the pieces are joined in place.

Getting a quote
We quote once we’ve seen the room. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and talk through the design with you, and the written quote comes after. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. To arrange a visit, get in touch through our contact form.
