Loft storage in Woodside Park
We build storage in lofts that are already converted or boarded. The conversion itself isn’t our work, and conversions come under Building Regulations. With the room in place, we can plan the storage. In Woodside Park, it all begins with a design visit. Most enquiries start with no wardrobe that fits under the slope and unused space in a dormer; the furniture is made from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed.
In a part of London with mixed housing, like much of the city, floors, walls and ceilings vary from one home to the next. Each piece is scribed to the wall and set level, whatever the room is like. You choose the paint colour, and whether it is spray-painted or hand-painted.
After the design visit, we send you a quote in writing. It describes the design we discussed, the materials and the finish, so it’s clear what’s included.

Making use of awkward spaces in Woodside Park
The biggest shares of homes in the streets around Woodside Park were built before 1919 (about 29%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 29%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how eaves cupboards are fixed and fitted. Near the centre of Woodside Park, Historic England’s list includes Lodge to Finchley Catholic High School (Grade II), less than half a mile north, and Terrace Cottage Terrace House (Grade II), about 0.5 miles north. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features such as panelling can require listed building consent. It is worth speaking to the council’s conservation officer before the design is final. TfL’s red routes have strict stopping rules. If your street in Woodside Park joins a main road, it is worth telling us at the design visit. Then we can work out where to load and unload.
Heath Hall, about 3 miles south, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, sloping ceilings in a loft room suit wardrobes cut to the angle. For a flat near Oakleigh Park station, it is useful to book the lift and tell the concierge before fitting day.
Woodside Park is within the London Borough of Barnet, about 1 mile south of Finchley. We work across all London boroughs and the City of London, and Woodside Park is part of that. We cover places right across Barnet, large and small.
We make loft storage across the N12, N3 and N20 postcode area. Our area takes in homes on streets such as High Road, Lodge Lane and Percy Road, along with the roads around them, for loft storage and any of our other fitted furniture. If you are just outside Woodside Park, we also cover North Finchley (1 mile east), Oakleigh Park (1 mile north-east), Whetstone (1 mile north-east), Church End (1 mile south) and Finchley (1 mile south). We also make loft storage in nearby places such as Barnet (2 miles north), Burnt Oak (3 miles west), East Finchley (2 miles south), Hendon (3 miles south-west), Edgware (4 miles west) and Southgate (2 miles east).
What’s near Woodside Park
The streets we cover here include those near Malt & Hops pub, St Michael's Catholic Grammar School and Woodhouse College. For rail, the closest station is Oakleigh Park station, roughly 1.6 miles north-east. A little further out are Grand Arcade (close by, under half a mile south-east) and Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum (close by, under half a mile south). Not far away are Woodridge Nature Reserve and Darland's Lake.

Hand-painted finish
Hand painting can be done on site once the storage is in. It is easy to touch up if it gets marked. That suits a room in daily use.
Doors and drawer fronts
We make the fronts from moisture-resistant MDF and finish them in the colour you choose. Angled fronts are cut to follow the slope, keeping the lines neat.
Questions from Woodside Park
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Woodside Park?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
Do you cover homes near Oakleigh Park station?
Yes, homes across Barnet and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can drop us a line using the contact form with some details about the room, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.
What do you do at the measuring visit?
It’s a chance to measure properly and talk through what you’d like. We also check the walls and floors and note radiators, sockets and other things in the way, and the written quote comes afterwards.
Do I need planning permission for fitted furniture?
Normally not. Inside a house, fitted furniture doesn’t normally need planning permission. If the building is listed, works affecting its character may need listed building consent.
What are your eaves cupboards made from?
Moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish. Stable materials suit a loft, where temperatures can vary. The materials and finish are agreed in your quote.
Do you do the electrics?
No. We’re carpenters, so electrical work is for your electrician. We can allow for cable routes in the design, and any new sockets are best done before fitting day.
Could you do it yourself?
Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job, and it’s easy to buy.
The real difference is in the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.
Fitting day, step by step
On the morning of the fitting, the first job is covering the floors and protecting the way in from the front door. The sections built in our workshop come in next, a piece at a time. How long fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Whatever the age of your home, the furniture is fitted to the walls you have, with scribing where they wander and packing where floors dip. Spray-painted pieces arrive finished; hand-painted ones can be finished on site.
- You let us know about your converted or boarded loft.
- We measure the eaves, the slopes and the stairs up to the loft, as everything has to get up there.
- The design is agreed and a quote in writing follows, with the finish set out.
- Every part is made at our workshop, ready for a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
- The storage is fitted, scribed to the slopes and checked with you.
How to prepare
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
- Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
Starting with a design visit
We quote once we have seen the room. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and discuss the design with you, and the written quote comes after. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. To book a design visit, get in touch through our contact form.

The problems loft storage solve
Many people get in touch once their loft conversion is complete. Standard furniture rarely suits the new room. Fitted storage finishes the room.
If you recognise any of these, it is worth talking to us:
- No wardrobe that fits under the slope
- Boxes piled on loft boards
- A new loft conversion that needs storage
- A loft room that doubles as an office or guest room
If your home is one of the older houses near Saint Barnabas' Church, a dormer in a converted loft can hold shelves or a small desk.
Before you choose who makes it
- Will the doors close with even gaps?
- Real projects you can actually look at
- Will other trades be needed, and who arranges them?
- Do they scribe the furniture to the walls?
