Walk-in wardrobes for your home in Camden Town
Walk-in wardrobes in Camden Town
A box room is often too small for a bed but just right for a dressing room. Lined with hanging and shelves, it can hold far more than a wardrobe in the bedroom, and the bedroom itself feels calmer. We plan the layout so you can stand, turn and see everything. We make walk-in wardrobes from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand, and the things people most often want solved are turning a box room into a dressing room and proper shoe storage.
Most homes around Camden Town are purpose-built flats, whether in mansion blocks or newer developments. A mansion block bedroom may have a chimney breast, high ceilings and walls that aren’t straight, while a newer flat is more likely to have plasterboard walls. The fixings are chosen for whichever wall you have.
The furniture is made at our workshop after you’ve had the quote and decided to go ahead. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so you can check every detail beforehand.

How it is made
Hand-painted finish
If you’d like the units to match the room’s woodwork, hand painting on site works well.
Hanging rails
We plan rails for full-length garments and for double hanging to suit your clothes.
Fitting day, step by step
At the end, we tidy up and take up the floor coverings. Before we leave, we go over the finished piece together. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the room and the design, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Sections come into the flat in the order they’re fitted, so the flat does not fill up. Floors are covered and dust is kept down. The fixings suit each wall, whether solid or stud.
- First, you let us know about the space.
- We visit, measure and talk through hanging, shoe storage and a dressing table.
- You receive a written quote, setting out the design, materials and finish.
- The units are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit everything in your home and check every door and drawer. Each unit is set level and scribed to the walls.
Preparing the room
- Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
- Check the building’s rules for trades and lift bookings
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
Getting a quote
Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. Each room is different, so we quote after seeing it, when we’ve measured up and talked through the design. For a quote, drop us a line using the contact form.
Advice
Common questions about walk-in wardrobes
Is Camden Town in the area you cover for walk-in wardrobes?
Yes, we work across Camden, Camden Town included, and across the rest of London. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit.
Is parking a problem for fitting in Camden Town?
It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.
Do I choose the paint colour?
You do. The paint colour is agreed with you.
What happens at the design visit?
We measure the space and discuss the design, materials and finish. We also check the walls and floors and note radiators, sockets and other things in the way, and the written quote comes afterwards.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. Let us know when you contact us if a Saturday suits you best.
How much time does fitting need?
How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and your quote sets out the fitting days. We’ll talk it through at the measuring visit.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, which often brings a shared hall and tight turns on the stairs. Each section is sized with that in mind, after measuring the route at the measuring visit.
Conversions and newer flats often have stud walls rather than solid brick. We choose fixings to suit the wall.

Fitted bedroom furniture in Camden Town
Homes built before 1919 make up about 40% of the housing in the streets around Camden Town, with about 22% built since 2000, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how walk-in wardrobes are fixed and fitted. The centre of Camden Town is within about a quarter of a mile of the Regent's Canal Conservation Area. Conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If you want to be certain, ask the council’s planning team. About 60% of households in the streets around Camden Town live in purpose-built flats, based on Census 2021. In a block, each section is sized to get up the stairs or into the lift and through the door. Building management rules on lifts, deliveries and working hours are worth checking early.
For families living near Our Lady Roman Catholic Primary School, a mix of drawers and shelves copes with school uniform as well as everything else. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. For a listed home, fixing into original features may need listed building consent.

The problems walk-in wardrobes solve
Most people come to us because their clothes have outgrown their wardrobes. Rails are crammed, shelves overflow and shoes end up under the bed. A dressing room spreads it all out so you can see it.
Requests we hear often include:
- The right mix of long and short hanging
- A dressing area in part of a bedroom
- A dressing table with drawers and a mirror
- A use for a small spare room
For a flat near Camden Road station, walk-in wardrobes are made in sections sized for the stairs, landings and lift, so measuring the route matters as much as measuring the room.
