How fitting works for walk-in wardrobes
At the end, we tidy up and take up the floor coverings. Before we leave, we go over the finished piece together. How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Stud walls can carry pipes and cables, so we check before drilling, with heavier pieces tied into the studs. Any new sockets or plumbing are for your electrician or plumber.
- You get in touch and let us know about the room and what you want to store.
- At the design visit we measure the room and talk through hanging, shelves and drawers.
- We send a quote that sets out the layout, materials and finish.
- Everything is made and finished in our workshop.
- We fit the walk-in wardrobe in your home, scribed to the walls and set level.
Preparing the room
- Tell us about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
- Clear the area where the furniture is going

Walk-in wardrobes in Tower Hill
We fit walk-in wardrobes in Tower Hill and across London. It starts with a design visit to measure and plan the layout, then a quote in writing. Once agreed, we make the units in our workshop and fit them in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you’ll know before we start. If your home has a bedroom without crowded wardrobes and a walk-in wardrobe in a box room, walk-in wardrobes made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand can solve it.
Many homes around Tower Hill were built since 2000, and across London a lot of homes from those years are compact flats in newer blocks. In a compact bedroom, fitted furniture that reaches the ceiling and uses the corners makes the most difference. Boxed-in pipes and service risers can be built around, so nothing is wasted.
You get the quote in writing, so there is time to read it properly. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Tower Hill
Homes built since 2000 make up about 49% of the housing in the streets around Tower Hill, with about 23% built between 1973 and 1999, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). We take that into account at the design visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. 30 conservation areas have at least part of their area within a mile of central Tower Hill. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. TfL’s red routes have strict stopping rules. If you live on or close to a main road in Tower Hill, let us know at the design visit. It lets us plan the stop before fitting day.
Living in a block of flats near London Fenchurch Street station? Then walk-in wardrobes are made in sections sized for the stairs, landings and lift, so measuring the route matters as much as measuring the room. For families living near The Aldgate School, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Chapel of St Peter Ad Vincula, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.

Flats, conversions and lettings
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let. It is made from the same moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood as any of our work, finished by spray or by hand.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, which is worth sorting early. We cannot advise on your lease.
When you need someone else
Damp treatment and building work are for other specialists, so these points are worth knowing:
- Getting consent under your lease
- New lights or sockets
- Curing damp in the walls

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Where bespoke earns its keep is in rooms that aren’t square. In period homes, walls lean, floors slope and the alcoves on each side are often different widths, which leaves standard units with gaps at the sides and top.
It’s worth being honest about cost: off-the-shelf furniture usually costs less up front. Bespoke earns its place where the room is awkward, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.
Questions from Tower Hill
Can you fit furniture in a home close to London Fenchurch Street station?
Yes. We cover all of Tower Hamlets and the rest of London. To get started, you can fill in our short enquiry form with some details about the room.
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Tower Hill?
It can be, as controlled parking zones cover much of inner London. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
Can you put a walk-in wardrobe in part of a bedroom?
Yes. We design the units to make a dressing area within the bedroom, and we fit the furniture once any building work is done.
How long will the walk-in wardrobe take to fit?
How long fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and your quote sets out the fitting days.
Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.
Do I need planning permission for fitted furniture?
Not typically. Conservation areas mostly control changes to the outside, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. In a listed building, check with the council’s conservation officer before any work.
Materials and finishes
Doors and drawer fronts
A dressing table with drawers can be built in where there’s space.
Shelves
We plan shelving for knitwear, bags and things you use less often. Spans and depths are sized so they don’t sag.
