Knightsbridge Bespoke Kitchens

We make bespoke kitchens for homes in Knightsbridge, designed around the room you have. We design your kitchen at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

  • Cabinets built around the appliances you choose
  • A kitchen that fits an uneven room
  • Extra cupboard space

Need bespoke kitchens in Knightsbridge?

When is bespoke worth it?

Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job, and it is quick to buy.

What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. Off-the-shelf furniture cannot usually do that in an older room.

Bespoke kitchens in Knightsbridge

A bespoke kitchen is built around the room you have. Every unit is sized from careful measurements taken at the measuring visit, so the runs fit neatly from wall to wall. The layout, storage and finish are planned with you before anything is made in our workshop. If you are living with spaces sized for your oven and fridge and a kitchen island with room around it, that’s what kitchens are for, made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.

An older kitchen often has a sash window and a back door, which fix where things can go. Around Knightsbridge, where a large share of homes date from before 1919, the cabinets are planned around the windows and doors you have. The sink position is agreed with your plumber. The worktop, sink and appliances are your choice.

The quote comes in writing, so you can read it at your own pace and share it with anyone else involved. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Do you need bespoke kitchens in Knightsbridge?

Older kitchens often lack storage. Larders, tall cupboards and deep drawers can hold much more than a row of standard wall units.

People usually get in touch with us about needs like these:

  • A painted dresser for the kitchen
  • A larder for food and small appliances
  • Cabinets that suit lean and sloping walls
  • Spray-painted or hand-painted cabinets

If you live near Royal Parks of London, a cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen.

Before you choose who makes it

  • Whether they can show you real projects they’ve done
  • How doors and drawers are fitted
  • How parking will work on your street
  • Whether you’ll get a written quote, not just a figure

Choosing a carpenter in London: a checklist

How fitting day works

You will not need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in, and it helps to have the room cleared beforehand, as agreed during the design visit. From there, we protect the floors, bring the furniture in and get on with the fitting. The time the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Parking on terraced streets can be tight, especially in a controlled parking zone, so details of permits, bays and any loading restrictions help. Unloading is kept short, with sections taken straight inside. Saturdays are possible by arrangement.

  1. You let us know about the kitchen and where it is in your home.
  2. We visit to plan the layout and check how the cabinets will get into the room.
  3. A written quote follows, covering the cabinets, materials and finish.
  4. In our workshop we build the kitchen from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, in pieces that suit the route in.
  5. We carry everything in and fit the cabinets, while your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics.

Preparing the room

  • Clear the area where the furniture is going
  • Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
  • Make sure pets are kept safely away

Getting a quote

The design visit is where every quote starts. We take full measurements, see how true the walls and floors are and work through the design together. Afterwards, we send a quote in writing for you to look over. To arrange the visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

  • Knocking through or rebuilding walls
  • Making good walls and ceilings
  • Plumbing, which is for your plumber

What it is made from

  • Hand-painted finish
  • Moisture-resistant MDF
  • Islands where space allows
  • Larders and dressers
  • Spray-painted finish
  • Birch plywood

Questions we are often asked

Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Knightsbridge?

It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit, and we’ll plan around it.

My house in Knightsbridge is Victorian. Can you deal with uneven walls?

Yes, that is normal in older houses: each piece is scribed to the wall and levelled at the base. We also work around skirting boards, picture rails and cornices. Fixings are chosen for the wall, whether solid brick or lath and plaster.

What materials do you use for kitchens?

Moisture-resistant MDF for painted doors and panels, and birch plywood where strength matters. The finish is spray painted in our workshop or hand painted, in colours you choose.

Do you work in Knightsbridge?

Yes, we do. We work in Knightsbridge and across Westminster.

How do you get large furniture into a flat?

It is made in sections, each one sized to fit the way in. At the design visit, we measure the route along with the room itself.

Can I have a kitchen island?

If the room is big enough, yes. At the design visit we check the clearances around it, and suggest another layout if it would crowd the room.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?

Off-the-shelf kitchens are quicker to buy and typically cost less and they suit many newer homes. Where walls lean and floors slope, they can be hard to fit neatly. Bespoke is a bigger investment, built around the space you have. Tall ceilings in older homes leave a band of empty wall above standard furniture, wasting space that could hold things you rarely use. Built-in pieces can run to the cornice or the picture rail.

In London, parking can affect the price. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension near your home. It helps to talk about parking at the design visit, so we can plan for it.

Bespoke kitchens for homes in Knightsbridge

In the streets around Knightsbridge, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 67%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 15%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. We take that into account at the measuring visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Near the centre of Knightsbridge, Historic England’s list includes Apsley House (Grade I), about 0.5 miles east, and Summer House in Buckingham Palace Garden (Grade I), about 0.6 miles east. If your own home is listed, internal works that affect its character, like fixing into or removing original joinery, can need listed building consent. It’s worth speaking to the council’s conservation officer before the design is final. The share of homes built before 1919 around Knightsbridge, about 67%, is well above the figure for Westminster as a whole, about 49%, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. So older-house details are more likely to come into the design of kitchens.

For a flat near London Victoria station, the lift, the stair turns and the front door all set the largest piece that can come in. For an older house near Deutsche Evangelische Christuskirche, cabinets will be scribed to walls and floors that are rarely true.

Knightsbridge is part of the City of Westminster, about 1 mile north-east of City of Westminster. From period terraces to newer flats in Knightsbridge, we measure the room as it is and design around it. Across Westminster, we cover Knightsbridge, along with the rest of the borough.
