Fitted wardrobes for your home in Canary Wharf
Flats, conversions and lettings
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants, at times that suit them. An agent can arrange access for you.
Mansion blocks and purpose-built blocks often have house rules about lifts, entry systems and when trades can come in. Let us know about them at the design visit, and we’ll plan the fitting around them.
How we make fitted wardrobes for Canary Wharf
Fitted wardrobes are made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. Doors and panels are spray painted in the workshop or hand painted, in a colour agreed with you. We then fit them in your home, setting them level on adjustable feet or a plinth and scribing them to the walls and ceiling. We make fitted wardrobes from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the usual reasons to get in touch are too little room for clothes and a tight bedroom where doors get in the way.
Hinged doors need space to open, which a compact bedroom may not have, so sliding doors or a careful layout can help. Around Canary Wharf, many homes date from 2000 onwards, and newer bedrooms tend to be on the small side. We measure the space in front as well as the wall.
The written quote is your record of the job. It describes the fitted wardrobe we’ve designed for the room, what it’s made from and how it is finished, and it is what the workshop builds to.

Pricing fitted wardrobes in Canary Wharf
To work out the quote, we look at:
- The finish: spray painted or hand painted
- The internal fittings
- Where a van can park, like a permit bay or a bay suspension
- Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
There’s no price list, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, discuss the design and then quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To start, use our contact form.
Getting in touch
There’s no need for exact sizes or plans. It’s enough to send:
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- Pictures of styles you like, if you have any
- How you want to use the space
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
To get a quote, get in touch through our contact form and tell us a little about the room. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and send you a written quote afterwards.
How fitting day works
The last stage of the day is the finish. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; hand painting, if that is what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. The finish is always the one agreed in your quote. Walls in newer homes are often plasterboard on studs, so fixings go into the studs or use fixings made for the board. Floors are covered while we work.
- You get in touch and let us know about the room.
- At the design visit we measure the room and agree the layout and doors.
- Your written quote follows, setting out the design, materials and finish.
- The wardrobes are built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, then sprayed if you chose a spray finish.
- We fit them in your home, scribed to the walls and ceiling; a hand-painted finish is done on site.
- Before we leave, we go through the doors and drawers with you. New paint takes time to cure, so treat it gently at first.
Preparing the room
- Check the building’s rules for trades and lift bookings
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
- Let us know where the boiler and meters are

You don’t need exact measurements to get started. We measure everything properly at the design visit, along with the walls, floor and ceiling. To arrange it, send us a few details through our contact form with a few details about the room. You receive a quote in writing after the visit.

Questions we’re often asked
Can you make fitted wardrobes for a home in Canary Wharf?
Yes, Canary Wharf is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Tower Hamlets and the rest of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
Will a conservation area stop me having fitted wardrobes fitted in Canary Wharf?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, internal works that affect its character may need listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Do you move sockets or add lighting?
No. We’re carpenters, so electrical work is for your electrician. We can plan cable routes into the design, and new sockets should be in place before fitting day.
What can go inside a fitted wardrobe?
We plan it with you during the design visit, based on what you wear and how much of it there is. Adjustable shelves keep some flexibility for later.
How do I get a quote for fitted wardrobes in Canary Wharf?
It is easiest to get in touch through our contact form with some details about the room. We then arrange a design visit, measure up and send a written quote.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
We need someone to let us in at the start of the day. It also helps to have someone around at the end, so we can go over the finished furniture together.
Where other trades come in
Damp treatment and building work are for other specialists, and there are a few other limits too:
- Removing walls, chimney breasts or any structural work
- Treating damp or mould on the walls
- The loft conversion itself, which is building work under Building Regulations
If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can get in touch through our contact form and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How a job runs, step by step.

Bedroom storage in Canary Wharf
About 66% of the homes in the streets around Canary Wharf went up since 2000, and about 16% between 1973 and 1999, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. That matters for fitted wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. The National Heritage List has 54 entries within half a mile of the centre of Canary Wharf. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and fitted wardrobes can be designed to work around them. About 66% of homes in the streets around Canary Wharf were built since 2000, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. Newer homes often have compact bedrooms with plasterboard stud walls, so fitted furniture is fixed to suit the board.
Queen's House, about 1.8 miles south, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind fitted wardrobes is part of the design. If your children go to Our Lady and St Joseph Catholic Primary School or a school nearby, fitted wardrobes in a child’s room can be planned so the inside layout changes as they grow. Near listed buildings like Church of St Matthias, less than half a mile north-east of the centre of Canary Wharf, older homes may keep original joinery that fitted wardrobes can be designed around. For a listed home, fixing into original features may need listed building consent.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Large flat-pack wardrobes can be hard to build in a small bedroom. Our wardrobes are made in sections sized to get up the stairs, into the lift and through the doors, ready to assemble in the room. Separate ready-made pieces can make an open-plan room feel unplanned, while fitted furniture can give the space structure.
How it is painted is part of the price: spray painting happens in the workshop, and hand painting can be done in your home. The written quote reflects your choice, along with the size and fittings.
