Loft storage in Enfield
For homes in Enfield, we make loft storage from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. The finish is spray painted or hand painted, in a colour agreed with you.
- A loft room that still feels unfinished
- Space under the eaves going to waste
- Unused space in a dormer

Loft storage in Enfield
Many loft rooms are bedrooms, and storage for clothes is the first need. A wardrobe under the slope, knee-wall drawers and dormer shelves make a complete set. Planned together, they make the room feel ordered. For a home in Enfield, it’s planned around your things. Typical reasons to get in touch are an empty dormer that could hold shelves and wasted space behind the knee walls; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.
With interwar houses or semis a big part of the picture around Enfield, loft conversions are common, and they leave low eaves and sloping ceilings. Fitted storage can make use of the eaves, the bay or the hall. For lofts, we work in spaces that are already converted or boarded.
Everything we agree during the design visit goes into the written quote: the layout, what goes inside, the materials used and the finish. If something isn’t quite right, tell us before anything is made.

Bespoke loft storage or ready-made?
Off-the-shelf wardrobes often do not fit up narrow loft stairs. Our storage is made in sections sized for the route. That makes it possible to fit large pieces in a small loft. Walls in interwar houses are straighter than in older ones, but rarely perfect, so standalone furniture can still lean or leave gaps. Built-in pieces are adjusted to the room on site.
There is no price list, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, discuss the design and then quote in writing, naming the materials and finish. To start, tell us about the room on our contact form.
Why choose us
- Saturdays by arrangement
- Over 300 projects completed
- Finished by spray or by hand
- Scribed to uneven walls

Making use of awkward spaces in Enfield
Homes built between 1919 and 1939 make up about 31% of the housing in the streets around Enfield, with about 24% built before 1919, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). It’s a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. The National Heritage List has 53 entries within half a mile of the centre of Enfield. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and eaves cupboards can be designed to work around them. The Ultra Low Emission Zone has covered all of London since it reached the outer boroughs on 29 August 2023. It applies to the vans that deliver and fit furniture in Enfield, as it does anywhere else in London. Access and parking are talked through during the design visit.
Close to Enfield Town Park? Eaves cupboards can be designed to hold outdoor kit, from walking boots to picnic things. For a family home near Enfield Grammar School, a place for each person’s coat and shoes stops the hallway filling up. Near listed buildings like Church of St Andrew Enfield Parish Church, less than half a mile north-west of the centre of Enfield, older homes may keep original joinery that eaves cupboards can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.
Enfield is about 2 miles south-east of Edmonton, in the London Borough of Enfield. Anywhere in Enfield, it works the same way: we visit and measure, send a quote in writing, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it. Our work takes in places right across the rest of London, large and small.
Design visits and fitting in EN1, EN2 and N21 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. You will find streets here such as Lea Road, Farr Road and Cecil Road, and homes on each of them are within our area for loft storage. Main roads around Enfield include the A110, and we plan where the van can stop before fitting day. Nearby, we also make loft storage in Bush Hill Park (1 mile south-east), Bush Hill (1 mile south), Enfield Chase (1 mile west), Gordon Hill (1 mile north) and Forty Hill (1 mile north-east). Other parts of the rest of London we cover include Edmonton (2 miles south-east), Palmers Green (3 miles south-west), New Southgate (4 miles south-west), Upper Edmonton (3 miles south), Oakthorpe Park (3 miles south) and Arnos Grove (3 miles south-west).
Near you in Enfield
We fit furniture in homes around St Andrew's CofE Primary School, Kings Head pub and Grange Park Preparatory School. Enfield has its own railway station: Enfield Town station. Well-known places in the area include St Michaels Hospital (0.7 miles north) and Museum of Enfield (a few minutes’ walk south).
How we price loft storage
We quote each job after the design visit, because no two rooms are the same. This is what makes the difference:
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- Tricky walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors
- Spray painting or hand painting
Rooms that aren’t square take more work: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. The quote allows for it.
Before the design visit
Getting some details early makes the visit more useful. Where you can, include:
- Pictures of styles you like, if you have any
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Whether it is a house or a flat, and if there are stairs or a lift
Getting a quote starts with a few details: the room, rough sizes and some photos if you have them. When you’re ready, use our contact form. We’ll then arrange a design visit and follow it with a written quote.
Fitting day, step by step
You will not need to do much on the day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and the room should already be cleared, as we will have talked about during the design visit. From there, we protect the floors, bring the furniture in and get on with the fitting. The time the fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. If you have a driveway, it can make unloading simpler, so let us know during the design visit. Otherwise, a visitor permit or a nearby bay helps. Doorways, stairs and floors are covered on the way in.
- First we hear about the loft room and what you’d like to store, including the eaves and any dormer.
- We measure the eaves, the slopes and the stairs up to the loft.
- The design is agreed and a written quote follows, with the finish set out.
- The storage is made at our workshop, in sections sized for the stairs. It is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- The storage is fitted, scribed to the slopes and checked with you.
Preparing the room
- Get any new sockets or wiring done by your electrician before fitting day
- Keep pets out of the room and the hallway
- Book any lift and let the concierge or building manager know
Ask for a quote
Photos help us understand the room before we visit. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line tell us a lot about the space, along with rough sizes. To share them, use our contact form, and we will suggest a time for a design visit.

Practical tips
People planning loft storage often ask about these. They help before and after fitting:
- Tell us about parking at the design visit
- Make room so the whole loft can be measured
- Decide whether you’d prefer drawers, cupboards or both
- Count the clothes you will need to hang
We open each door and run each drawer with you before we go. If there is an access door to the eaves, we make sure it opens fully. You will know it all works as it should.
Keep sharp or very heavy items away from the painted fronts. Store tools in a box, not loose against the doors. Minor chips can be touched up with the matching colour.
Common questions about loft storage
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Enfield?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. It is useful to let us know about parking at the design visit.
Do I need permission for fitted furniture in a conservation area?
Typically not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different, as works inside that affect their character can need listed building consent from the council. If you are unsure, the council can confirm.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, we can arrange Saturdays. Just mention it when you get in touch, and we’ll see what we can do.
What do eaves cupboards cost?
Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. The mix of cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and the finish, all play a part. We set it all out in a quote in writing.
Do you make the furniture yourselves?
Everything is made in our workshop for your room, then fitted in your home. We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
Does someone need to be home during the fitting?
We need access, so someone has to let us in. You do not need to watch us work, but it helps to be around at the end.
Flats, blocks and rented homes
If your building is on a red route or a busy main road, getting the furniture from the van to the door needs planning. Red routes are run by TfL and have strict stopping rules, so it’s worth raising during the design visit.
Leaseholders should check the lease before anything is fixed to the walls. Some leases need the building owner’s consent for alterations. We can’t give advice on leases.
