Spring Park Loft Storage

We make loft storage for homes in Spring Park, designed around the room you have. We design your eaves cupboard at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

  • A converted loft with no fitted furniture
  • Unused space in a dormer
  • No wardrobe that fits under the slope

Need loft storage in Spring Park?

Why bespoke in Spring Park?

Standalone furniture can move with you, and it may suit a short stay. Fitted storage stays with the house, and it uses the slopes in a way a standalone piece cannot. The right choice depends on how long you plan to stay. If a house has been extended or knocked through, the new walls and the old ones may not line up, and straight-sided ready-made units make that obvious. Built-in pieces are scribed to take up the difference.

There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. A larger piece means more material and more time, so size comes first. After that, the number of doors and drawers, the internal fittings and the finish all play a part.

About our loft storage in Spring Park

We make each eaves cupboard in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. Birch plywood gives the carcasses and drawers their strength, while MDF takes paint well for the doors and panels. Once painted, by spray or by hand, it is carried up and fitted in your home in Spring Park. Typical reasons to get in touch are no wardrobe that fits under the slope and wasted space behind the knee walls; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.

Around Spring Park, with interwar houses or semis making up much of the housing, the hall is often wide enough for coat and shoe storage. Bay windows suit seating with drawers or lift-up lids, with a grille where there’s a radiator underneath. Each space is measured and eaves cupboards are made to suit it.

Once you’ve read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is made at our workshop. The quote sets out the agreed design, materials and finish, so every detail can be checked first.

Common questions about loft storage

Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Spring Park?

It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It is useful to tell us about parking at the measuring visit, so we can plan the day around it.

Can you fit furniture in a home close to West Wickham station?

Yes, homes across Croydon and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with a few details about the room, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.

Can you get furniture up narrow loft stairs?

We make the storage in sections sized for the route. At the design visit, we measure the loft stairs, the turns and the landings. It means a full wardrobe can still reach the room.

Can you fit furniture on an external wall?

External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so we allow for ventilation behind and inside the furniture, which helps avoid condensation and mould. If there is damp, it should be sorted before anything is fitted.

Can you convert my loft as well?

No. We do not carry out loft conversions. Our part is the storage once the loft is a finished room, including eaves cupboards, knee-wall drawers and wardrobes.

What do eaves cupboards cost?

Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. The mix of cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and the finish, all play a part. Everything is set out in a written quote after the visit.

Caring for painted furniture

Getting the most from loft storage starts with the planning and carries on after fitting day. Here are some things worth bearing in mind:

  • Let us know about parking near your home
  • Choose a calm colour for the loft
  • Note any vents or insulation in the eaves
  • Decide whether you’d prefer drawers, cupboards or both

Small marks on a hand-painted finish can be touched in. It is worth keeping a record of the paint colour. If anything is not right with the storage, get in touch through our contact form and we will talk it through.

Leave room for air to move behind the storage. Insulation pressed flat does not do its job. If you notice damp or condensation behind the eaves, ask whoever converted the loft.

Where other trades come in

Our work is the furniture itself: designing it, making it in our workshop and fitting it. That means:

  • Any wiring, which needs an electrician
  • Approval for structural changes
  • Insulation or ventilation work behind the eaves

If in doubt, you can fill in our short enquiry form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.

What goes into it

  • Moisture-resistant MDF
  • Hand-painted finish
  • Spray-painted finish
  • Eaves doors and drawers
  • Birch plywood
  • Sloped wardrobe tops

What prompts loft storage in Spring Park

Loft rooms that double as offices or guest rooms need places for things. Built-in storage under the slopes keeps the room flexible.

These come up often when people first get in touch:

  • Unused space in a dormer
  • Nowhere to store bags and boxes
  • A new loft conversion that needs storage
  • Ready-made wardrobes too big for the stairs

The wider area includes historic houses such as Addington Palace, about 1.3 miles south. If your own home is a period one, sloping ceilings in a loft room suit wardrobes cut to the angle.

Before you choose who makes it

  • Whether they measure the room themselves
  • Are the boards named, such as MDF or plywood?
  • How the furniture will be finished, and where
  • How they’ll get the furniture into the room

Fitted storage in Spring Park

In the streets around Spring Park, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 62%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 22%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Spring Park include Church of All Saints (Grade II), less than half a mile south, and The White Lodge (Grade II), less than half a mile north-east. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features like panelling can need listed building consent. Check with the council’s conservation officer first. Since the zone was extended to the outer boroughs in August 2023, the whole of London has been inside the ULEZ. That includes the vans that bring and fit furniture in Spring Park. We go through parking and access during the design visit.

For a flat near West Wickham station, check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in. Close to Millers Pond? Eaves cupboards can be designed to hold outdoor kit, from walking boots to picnic things.

From workshop to your room

If anything comes up on the day, just ask. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so the day itself is about careful fitting and leaving the room tidy. How long the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. In a 1930s house with a converted loft, the stairs to the loft room are often steeper than the main flight, so any section going up there is sized for them. The main stairs in houses of that age are typically straighter. The pieces are joined and fixed once in place.

  1. You contact us about storage in your converted loft.
  2. We visit to measure the loft and the way up, including the top flight and any tight turn. Let us know about parking too, as a van often needs a permit or a paid bay.
  3. A quote in writing follows, covering the design, materials and finish.
  4. We build the storage in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, sized to get up to the loft.
  5. The sections go up the stairs, are assembled under the eaves and set level.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area where the furniture is going
  • Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
  • Tell us about parking near your home

Starting with a design visit

Pictures help us understand the room before we visit. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line give us a good feel for the space, along with rough sizes. To share them, get in touch through our contact form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.
