FAQs: bespoke kitchens in Manor Park
Is Manor Park in the area you cover for bespoke kitchens?
Yes. We cover all of Newham and the rest of London, and Manor Park is part of that. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Manor Park station?
Yes, homes across Newham and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can send us a few details through our contact form with some details about the room, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you contact us.
Who chooses the colour?
You choose it. The paint colour is agreed with you, and it’s set out in the quote.
Do I need permission in a conservation area?
Not normally. Conservation areas mostly control changes to the outside, and furniture inside a house does not normally need it. Listed buildings are different: check with the council’s conservation officer first.
How are bespoke kitchens priced?
Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. A small galley and a large kitchen with a larder and island are very different jobs, so we price it after the design visit. To get started, tell us about the room on our contact form.
Bespoke kitchens for homes in Manor Park
We’re carpenters, so we make and fit the cabinets, while other trades handle the services. Plumbing is done by your plumber, gas by a Gas Safe registered engineer and electrics by your electrician, and we plan the cabinets around where their work goes. We make kitchens from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the usual reasons to get in touch are tall larder storage and an island where space allows.
A large share of the homes around Manor Park were built before 1919, and in many Victorian and Edwardian terraces the kitchen sits in a narrow back addition, or in a side return that has since been extended. Cabinets are scribed to walls that wander and levelled on floors that slope. You choose the worktop, sink and appliances, and the cabinets are made around them.
Everything we agree during the design visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If something isn’t quite right, tell us before anything is made.

What it is made from
Spray-painted finish
For a sleek look, spray painting works well, and it is done before fitting.
Doors and drawer fronts
The style of the doors sets the tone of the kitchen, whether plain or framed.

Could you do it yourself?
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. How much a shelf bends depends on its span, depth and load, and long runs need a thicker shelf, a lip along the front or a support. That is something we plan for in the design.
If you are handy, a simple shelf or a standard wardrobe in a square room is a reasonable DIY job. It gets harder with sloping ceilings, out-of-level floors and lath-and-plaster walls.
Bespoke kitchens for homes in Manor Park
The biggest shares of homes in the streets around Manor Park were built before 1919 (about 58%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 15%), based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. It is a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. The National Heritage List records 5 entries within half a mile of the centre of Manor Park. You can check whether a particular building is listed on Historic England’s list. The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) now covers the whole of London, Newham included. Vans bringing furniture to Manor Park fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. We go through parking and access at the design visit.
Close to Loxford Park? A tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design. If you live in a period home close to St Mary's Church, a narrow back addition or an old chimney breast may shape the kitchen layout. Near listed buildings like Church of St Mary the Virgin, less than half a mile south-east of the centre of Manor Park, older homes may keep original joinery that kitchens can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.
Manor Park is about 2 miles south-west of Plaistow, part of the London Borough of Newham. Manor Park is part of the area we cover. In Newham, Manor Park is one of the places we cover.

Near you in Manor Park
We fit furniture in homes around Tyndale Academy, Earl of Essex pub and Little Ilford School and the streets around them. The closest station to Manor Park is Manor Park station, roughly 0.5 miles west of the centre. Nearby you will also find Barking Community Hospital (2 miles south-east) and Redbridge Museum (1 mile north-east).
Is bespoke worth it?
Ready-made cabinets often have chipboard carcasses. We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, painted in colours you choose, so the finish can be repainted later. Tall standalone furniture needs fixing back to the wall so it can’t tip, and older walls of brick or lath and plaster make that harder than it looks. With fitted pieces, the fixings are planned for the wall from the start.
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. Size, the number of doors and drawers and the internal fittings make the biggest difference to the price.
Why us?
- Made in moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Scribed to uneven walls

How we price bespoke kitchens
What you pay depends on:
- How square the room is
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Parking and unloading on your street
We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. A larger piece means more material and more time. After that, the number of doors and drawers, the internal fittings and the finish all play a part.
Getting in touch
You do not need exact measurements or a plan. Just send what you can:
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- What the furniture needs to hold
It is useful to see the room before we come. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them give us a good feel for the space, along with rough sizes. To share them, drop us a line using the contact form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.
What happens on fitting day
Once the main sections are fixed in place, any doors go on and any drawers or lids are fitted. Each one is adjusted until the gaps are even and it closes cleanly, then checked again. How long fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Parking on terraced streets can be tight, especially in a controlled parking zone, so it’s useful to tell us during the design visit what’s outside. Unloading is kept short, with sections taken straight inside. Saturday fitting can be arranged.
- We start with how you use the kitchen and what isn’t working. It is useful to know the worktop, sink and appliances you have in mind.
- We come to measure up and plan the layout with you, including where the sink and appliances will go.
- You get a quote in writing for the cabinets, with the materials and finish set out, for you to read through.
- The cabinets, doors and drawer fronts are built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit the kitchen in your home, while your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician handle the plumbing, gas and electrics. We do not arrange those trades, so it helps to book them early.
Before we arrive
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
- Let us know where the boiler and meters are
Arranging a design visit
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit, when we have measured up and talked through the design. For a quote, use our contact form.
